You might wonder how far have we gone with Starfall Tactics' development? We are happy to say now that the core part of game mechanics is quite ready and waiting for more features and content to be added. At this stage we started creating the MMO part of our game, which contains a big galaxy map for you to discover (yay!). We will feature some concrete general information separetly before the alpha, and until then, you can look at different WIP stuff for it.

    Transport ships

There is a lot of different stuff to do for the MMO parts of the game. One of obligatory things is a cargo ship which is obvious for a space game like this - moving a huge amount of goods from one part of the galaxy to another is a nontrivial task for your battle ships.

This ship's codename is Charon and it can carry quest-related packages, resources, and other stuff probably, except for blueprints and currency. Charon is not strictly assigned to any of the factions, although there will be skins available based on your chosen fleet's faction.

    Stars and Planets

The whole Galaxy can't live without stars and planets and that's what we shall think about too. So we've made a couple, which you will encounter while furrowing the vast of the Starfall Tactics' universe and exploring the galactic map.

Well, not just a couple - you can see only example stars and planets, in fact there are thousands of them on our Galaxy map to discover: some will embarrassingly little to show, while the others are colonized, under exploration or work as fountains of resources.

    Cerera

Another unaligned ship is coming in! Cerera, which you could previously see as Sierra, got a new life - now it's a generic factionless ship for the MMO part of Starfall Tactics.

Is it a pirate ship, or just a hostile trading guild member? Well, thats not the thing you should worry about, while this suspicious сruiser is coming into your ship's vision - we would personally advise you to take care and always be prepeared for the battle for your life!

Something massive is coming out! Prepare to warp away through massive gates, surprise your opponents with an epic self-destruction module or simply destroy missiles, which are desperately trying to reach you.

    Warp Gates

Making your way from one solar system to another is a hard challenge, which requires a lot of energy, resources and exact coordinates - so, a Warp Gate is a great thing to help ships easily jump from one system to another. We thought once about small warp beacons, but nobody could stand against enormity and epicness of huge Warp Gates with moving circles - just click on the picture below to see it:

Check out our profile on Sketchfab to see more 3D models!

    Self-destruction

Self-destruction module is finally here to show brutal power of death and explosions - whether it's a dreadnought getting his last chance to kill a significant part of enemy's fleet, or some small suicide frigates, you will never regret the last moment of its life.

Self-destruction module is an activatable equipment, that takes up space in the engineering bay, and requires considerable amount of capacity. It explodes on Activation, damaging all vessels in range, and eliminates the ship in which it's installed.

    Anti-missile system

Hate missiles ignoring shields and destroying expensive ships? Get an anti-missile system and laugh at enemies launching swarms of rockets at you - right until they warp-in some beam weapons or cannons.

Anti-missile system is a passive special module which can be equipped to any ship with sufficient engineering bay space and capacity. Be ready to sacrifice some armor, shields or other important stuff to get it, although it's a fair price for such a useful module.

Starfall Tactics allows you to build a lot of interesting strategies, thanks to in-depth customization and a variety of available special modules granting you additional tactical abilities. We are constantly adding features to make your future battle experience more diverse - this time we added two scouting modules and a completely new type of lasers, at the same time, we continue our work on the MMO part of the game.

    Charon freighter

Charon freighter is ready to carry precious resources and other meaningful stuff! It's actually too slow and heavy to do it all alone, so there is no surprise in getting escort missions from time to time. You might think about it as an easy way to get some money or reputation, but considering hateful pirates, player killers, aggressive players from other factions and other unexpected meanness, these "simple missions" can turn into extra troubles.

    Phantom Laser

Along with adding special modules granting new active or passive abilities, we did not forget about general equipment such as weapons, armor, engines and so on. Looking at fat-armored Vanguard vessels, we've recently added phantom lasers with ability to almost ignore it, burning away heavy armored ships.

It still has some disadvantages, such as shorter range and low shield damage, but glorious golden color will make it all up as that's the best looking laser according to Starfall Tactics' team.

    Advanced Sensor and Stealth module

To get more map control and vision for sniping enemy ships you usually need to create more scouts and get special systems for better detection, hiding and stealth revealing (yes, we've already added stealth modules). Stealth module will help you hide ships, making them invisible, while Advanced Sensor is a thing your snipers and scouts will particularly fall in love with, as it significantly increases the field of view and allows to detect stealthed enemies easier.

There is a lot of interesting things to be added to Starfall Tactics - stay in touch and read all upcoming news to keep up!

More content incoming! New ship for Vanguard, upgrades for control points and a very-very heavy armor have just come into Starfall Tactics to surprise you with a variety of available customization and tactical options.

    Helskor

Helskor, the second Vanguard frigate, is ready to join the battle! This small ship wants to be your best quick strike force, flying around bigger vessels and laughing at their inability to turn the right side and get a hit with missiles.

    Control Point Upgrade

To make your quick matches more interesting and intense we've just added some interesting mechanics, allowing players to upgrade control points.

By capturing control points one can now not only get more warp points, but also gain access to three differents upgrades:

    Warp Station - additional warp points income and additional place for warping-in ships;
    Outpost - increased field of view and stealth revealing;
Battle Station - defensive construction equipped with weapons which can shoot nearby ships.
Each upgrade has a warp point cost and applies instantly. Upgraded control points have hit points, armor and shields and can't be captured until you destroy upgrades.

    Heavy Armor

Armor is a good way to protect your ships from most non-energy weapons. But what if your ship doesn't have enough slots? Heavy Armor is here to help you! Being really heavy and actually significantly slowing down ships, it grants so much armor that even smallest vessels can feel protected, for at least first few seconds of the battle.

Hey, Commanders! This week we had a lot of things to do: objects and interface for the MMO part of the game, new quick match maps and some stuff for it, new ships and lots of other interesting things. Here is just a smaller part of it in 3D sketches:

    Bishop

Here comes the Bishop - a mighty Deprived battleship with a name which makes you think of this ship as of a support ship. Although we are still thinking about its specific role, the Bishop will definitely have front weapons, in contrast to other Deprived vessels, which mostly have hardpoints on each side.

Also, to add a bit of variety to our hulls, we decided to do this battleship 150% the size of a regular one - 750 meters of death and destruction!

    Eagle

Newest addition to Eclipse vessels - Eagle cruiser - should be a great ship to have in your fleet. Although it's rather small and can't carry huge tactical modules, swiftness and ability to do substantial damage more than compensates for all the possible disadvantages.

Don't forget to check out our Sketchfab page to see it when it's done!

    Fuel depot and Repair station

While furrowing the vast of the Starfall Tactics' universe you can get into different challenging situations, including fighting with pirates and other players. During each battle in our special Discovery mode, there are thousands of chances to take damage to your ships in the fleet - to fix it up you will have to find a nearest Repair station and pay some in-game currency for it's services.

Breakages are not the sole difficulty Commanders will encounter: travelling in and between solar systems requiers certain amounts of fuel to power ships' engines. So players need to control fuel balance and, from time to time, visit Fuel depots and pay a fixed price to refill.

Actually, we have another interesting mechanic in mind concerning breakages and fuel, and will tell you about it in our future articles for sure!

Every day Starfall Tactics' team aims to create something new - we put all our force, skills and creativity to making something truly worth your time and attention. Although there were several holidays (many of those around here), we achieved improving the MMO part of the game and made some other changes and additions.

    Artificial Planet

Galaxy map is a huge thing, requiring a lot of different stuff like mechanics, objects, decorations, quests, interfaces and so on. It's always a pleasure for us to see a new step of evolution of Starfall Tactics - whether it's just several ships travelling from one solar system to another, an ability to attack fleets in the open space, utility objects, game modes or some smaller additions. And although this new Artificial planet represents just a piece of Starfall Tactics' big Galaxy, it's utility and importance shouldn't be underestimated.

Artificial planets are the result of great technical evolution and interstellar travels popularisation, it's fully artificial. Despite of some patriotic rumors in the Vanguard faction, the concept of creating this type of planets and most ideas belong to Eclipse's genius scientists, striving to create grand projects for commercial use and... just because they can. It's usually used for production and manufacturing as it's quite hard to live in those man-made worlds - people prefer admiring these beautiful creations from a distance. Don't forget to visit artificial planets from time to time - they might have some interesting and rewarding quests for you!

    Asteroid Belts

Space without asteroids and asteroid belts? No, it's not possible! To make you feel Space and several quick match maps more exciting and full, we've just added big, long and insidious asteroid belts.

It actually makes you feel better and more protected only until an enemy suddenly jumps out of the corner and attacks you. At the same time, it grants more tactical abilities and interest in controlling the map, or even equipping additional modules like warp jumps, allowing to leap the obstruction and leave your opponent behind. Asteroid belt also can be used as a temporary cover for ships - just keep in mind the line of sight mechanics and don't try to ram into asteroids and everyting will be grand.

    Nebulas

One could read previous releases about nebulas - they were a simple decoration for the space. Now we are adding another type, representing new mechanics which most MOBA gamers know as "brushes".

Nebulas in Starfall Tactics are a good way to hide your ships from enemies and prepare an ambush - suprising an enemy with attack will definitely give you advantages and time before they get the right position for each ship in the fleet. There is only one bad thing for player hiding in nebulas - you will need additional scouts, as inside it ships lose some vision and can't see approaching enemies.

Hey, Сommanders! We are back again and ready to show you more interesting stuff for Starfall Tactics. Our team had to spend a lot of time on creating UI and mechanics for the Galaxy map - we still have a lot of great things to do and tons of epic ideas for the future - project development will never stand still!

So, let's head to some curious stuff we're ready to tell you about this week:

    Bishop

New deadly and massive ship is coming to life - Bishop is almost ready to take part in intense tactical battles for the control of the Galaxy!

Being a typical representative of the genius Deprived constructors, this chaotic asymmetric ship is destined to be an unusual battleship in all ways - front weapons and increased hull size will only add another oddity level to it.

    Repair Station

One shall never forget that Starfall Tactics' Galaxy might appear a cruel place for those who is not prepared for any kind of situations, making you damage or even loose a couple of ships. That's why it was decided to begin building special repair stations in space, where everybody can get a fix for their ships.

Vanguard and Eclipse scientist started this great project in collaboration and competition with each other - unfortunately the War between factions separated them, stopping the project at the final stage. Later, each faction began building such structures in solar systems they own as the need arises.

    Laser

Do you like cool visual effects? Well, we think everybody loves it and so do we. That's why we are always looking forward to improving it and creating new ones, you will admire looking at. And here is another thing to help Commanders blow away enemy ships:

Red color is always meant to be something agressive and dangerous - and although it's actually the color of the Vanguard faction, others won't disdain it as all is fair in war.

Today is an exciting day, fellow commanders!

It’s finally time to lift the curtain on one of the core gameplay mechanics of Starfall Tactics which we’ve been keeping a close secret ever since the very beginning of development. Now it might sound a bit unconventional at first, but we at Snowforged Entertainment firmly believe in innovation and hope you’ll share our bold vision for the next generation of wargames.

If you’re an attentive reader of our weekly work in progress posts, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that each of our spaceships is crafted with love, care and great attention to detail by a small group of artists. As such, every single one of those vessels has its own distinct voice and personality. And over time, whether you planned for it or not, you begin to develop a keen liking to those unique qualities. Your heart starts to skip a beat at the sight of Logan annihilating another enemy dreadnought with its powerful artillery or Talaria evading an entire fleet of adversaries without as much as breaking a sweat. There are many ways to customize and promote individual spaceships in Starfall Tactics, but sometimes it feels like installing a new module or ordering a fresh coat of paint isn’t cutting it anymore. You want something more. You want to have a relationship with your units that feels more personal, more… intimate. Well we have an answer to this problem and that answer is just one word: «Dating».

That’s right. Dating. Apart from creating a truly deep and immersive real-time wargame experience, we plan on delivering you a complex spaceship romancing simulation driven by narrative and in-game events. Every ship will be available for courting and have its own fleshed-out storyline you can unlock over the time of playing. You can even try your charm and wit on space stations to gain occasional favors and small discounts. A well-timed wink goes a long way! But keep in mind that we obviously won’t be forcing the fate of becoming a spacefaring casanova on every player. Being good pals with your allied ships will always be a viable option!

So at this point you’re probably wondering how will this system actually work. Well, the process is fairly simple. Once you’re in fleet customization menu, you’ll see a speech bubble icon floating above every ship that wishes to have an audience with you. Clicking it will open up a dialog menu that’s not unlike the familiar dialog menus in interactive novels, where you’ll be able to have a little chat with your spaceship accompanied by stylised animated artwork. The theme of these conversations will range all the way from inconsequential small talk to custom loyalty missions (eat your heart out, Mass Effect). Being caring and attentive to your subordinates will grant you small bonuses in battle as well as unique blueprints, equipment and cosmetic items at the higher levels. But be careful — once the ship is destroyed, the AI will reboot to factory settings and you’ll have to start all over again! To nourish the flower of love in the middle of a warzone is no easy task.

We can’t wait to hear what you think about this side of Starfall Tactics!

The time has come to present you another couple of ships created with love and patience, and a finished Fuel depot. And no, you won't be able to date them as our previous news was a great april fools joke... maybe...

    Cassandra

Bruno is finally going to have a beautiful friend - Cassandra! Another cruiser in line to bring more pain and let you show your extraordinary microcontrol skills. Although Starfall Tactics gives you an optional, but very useful ability, to create a group of units using hot keys and set target locations for them and attack order, you shall not forget about specific game features. Line of fire and ship collision are not things ships will look to by themselves - you need to position your ships right, preventing them from ramming each other and staying off friendly fire. In exchange your tiny friends will have a very valuable ability to easily evade most projectiles and laugh at slowly turning dreadnoughts.

Make your opponents cry with a sweet pare of Bruno and Cassandra!

    Fuel Depot

Here, let's talk a little bit more about exploring the Galaxy: you could read in one of previous WIP articles that travelling across the Galaxy will need a certain amount of fuel, which costs some in-game currency. This sounds a little bit hardcore, but in fact if you are attentive enough and saved money for long space trips to the edge of the Galaxy, have a strong fleet to fight against ambushes and know in which star systems you can find fuel depots - fuel management will not present a big problem to you. Really.

Always pay attention to the fuel level, otherwise, left without fuel and almost immobilized, you run the risk of becoming an easy prey for pirates and every single enemy fleet which is able to destroy you to get all your goods and chattels.

    Eagle

The second cruiser for the Eclipse faction, Eagle, is another small and fast vessel to add into your collection. Despite of having really small engines visually, it actually has enough power to be a very quick and maneuvering ship, at least if you equip some appropriate modules.

As the ship is separated into two parts, it's obvious that some models of it have two weapon and engeneering bays for the left and the right sides - so, there is a chance that some modules can't fi this ship. But don't worry too much, as small squad of these cruisers can bring a lot of unpleasant moments to your rivals - be sure to save some place in your fleet for the Eagle!

The time is running fast and so we keep adding new interesting features and improving Starfall Tactics' Galaxy with every day. In fact, we moved so far that you might not recognise the game now if you watched our early trailers and screenshots - and we are sure that those changes are only for the good. At the momemnt, the game is almost ready to hit the closed alpha testing, so we started finalizing some features and adding cool interesting mechanics, modules and just useful stuff for you. Let's look at some of our latest additions we'd love to show you this time:

    Ichaival

Red Vanguard battleship with a taste of retrofuturistic design always brakes greatest Eclipse's minds with this hole in the middle. Somebody even considered this hole as a place for special giant module... But they are not right. Vanguard engineers keep this secret close from the very beginning and perhaps, only Father could lift the veil one day.

Ichaival, a not-so-easy-to-spell ship you will possibly prefer to abbreviate, is a great battleship for most fleet formations - it has enough defense as usual Vanguard vessel and at the same time can serve as a good ship for assaults. Be sure to check it in the game someday!

    Long Range Scanner

Scouting and getting tactical data about your opponent is a very important part of a gameplay in Starfall Tactics. The more you know about enemy fleet, the better you are at planning assaults and making right tactical decisions in general, which can lead you to a glorious victory.

That makes us think about adding more special equipment for scouting - this time we are ready to present you the Long Range Scanner. It reveals target area of your choice on the map and lets you see all what's going on there for 10 seconds - you can get knowledge about enemy ships and plans or just allow some snipers to focus down a ship from a very long distance. It has quite a long cooldown in terms of quick matches - choose the moment to use it wisely and be one step ahead of your opponent!

    Spy Drone

Another tactical module for your fleet, spy drone is the thing which allows you to... spy. Like a tipster from famous films about secret agents, this drone almots insendibly attaches to enemy ships and follows them. It also has a very useful option of giving you the vision of this ship wherever it is - so you can know even more about movements of the enemy fleet and get a huge advantage while planning assaults.

Spy drone can be shot down with the help of Anti-missile system or Point Defense module - prudent commanders will always have at least one anti-scouting ship in reserve to counteract your effort of collecting tactically important information.

Check out our news next week - we'd love to tell you about Point Defense and another special modules for your fleet soon!

Hey, Friday the 13th has never been better than today! And that's all because we are going to tell you about Point Defense and another two tricky modules which will confuse your enemies' minds, giving a burn to new evil tactics.

    Point Defense module

Point Defense, as you could notice from our previous news article, is another system which helps to defend your fleet. This module is an active skill which destroys 25 projectiles (including bullets and missiles), within a certain range on activation, not depending on their size and speed. It's very effective if enemy shoots you with heavy rockects which have a long cooldown and heavy damage - eliminating even four or five of these projectiles prevents a ship loss. At the same time, you must avoid weapons with high fire rate, launching dozens of bullets and rockets - it shuts down Point Defense in seconds.

This module is good at saving your assault dreadnoughts from recieving a huge damage from the first salvos of enemy fleet - because of a specific construction and size of this special equipment you won't be able to install it on small ships, but it's going to pay you back in many ways. Remember, that you will have to think about some kind of protection for a ship when this system switches off. Otherwise, there are warp modules to help to get off the range of dangerous enemy ships.

    Antiradar system

Usually minimap can be an ultimate tool to see what's going on at the battlefield and control the situation. Many players used to rely on it in many ways - of course, there are a lot of important moments you need to control manually, but minimap does a good job for you by showing all visible enemy units. And that's where Antiradar system is going to trick everybody.

By adding this module to the engineering bay you guarantee that enemies won't see this unit on the minimap, missing some of your tactical movements and getting confused with what's going on everywhere. However, Antiradar system is a very special tool which can't fit into every fleet - so think through your great strategy when taking it!

    Decoy module

Decoy module is another great tool to fool your enemies. This module produces a holographic copy of the ship where it is installed - it can't be destroyed, does not deal any damage and all projectiles always fly through it. It's not so easy to use, but you will understand the true value of it as soon as enemy fleet will try to focus on it instead of your precious battleships and dreadnoughts.

Every second you win by using it is another ability for your fleet to concentrate and blow away enemy ships before they realise present posture of affairs.

So, if you want your tactics to be wise - consider taking this module along with some other interesting things we will be telling you about in our next article!

Undermine your opponents, watch the evolution of Starfall Tactics's logo and get familiar with blueprints rarity system - it's a nice chance to get closer to the game! Feel free to discuss it ans ask away on the forum - we always welcome new Commanders!

    New logo

Starfall Tactics logo gets a brand-new look - and it's more epic, sci-fied and more beautiful than ever! Don't miss it and watch the evolution of logo in this new video, showing all versions of it - from the first and the one you got used to, to the new logo you will see from now on!

And here is a super colored version just for you:

We hope you liked it - anyway, feel free to write about your impressions!

    Mines

No, that's not the place where you get coal - it's a real mine which explodes when you step on it or, in our case - flies too close to it.

There are four mine types for now:
    • Flack mine - works as a usual mine - activates and deals damage when you get close to it;
    • Stalker Mine - if you get a ship close enough, Stalker Mine rushes to you, explodes and damages armor and structure;
    • EMP mine - deals damage to shields, activates when you fly close to it.
    • Heavy Plasma Mine - unlike other mines, it has a friend or foe recognition system. Activates and deals damage when you get close to it.
    • They are very small, so you will need to watch the battlefield carefully in order to not get cought by mines - remember that three of those will not distinguish between friendly and enemy ships.
    Cards

What could be better than admiring a new epic card of equipment you've just recieved? We, in Snowforged Entertainment, understand the meaning of the visual difference between cards depending on rarity and the joy of finding epic and legendary items, so let's present to you a brand new look for it.

Keep in mind that all descriptions and characteristics are subject to change.

At the moment we have 4 types of rarity of blueprints: Basic, Refined, Advanced and Prototype. All of them you can get while opening booster packs or, if you are lucky enough, buy from the Black Market, or get it by destroying fleets of other players on the Galaxy map.

Hey, Snowforged Team is back again and glad to present our weekly news article!

It's still hard to believe that it's already August and the biggest and most exciting part of the summer with the first and the second pre-Alpha tests is over - but we are here, our short vacation finished and the Team is now rested and ready to conquer the peaks of game development! We've already done some important changes which will improve your next experience with Starfall Tactics - most of them we will show you in our upcoming news articles.

Now, let us show you some new ships - since it's one of the most important things in Starfall Tactics for you, we always make sure that everybody can find good allies among all fleets.

    Faust Deprived Battlecruiser

New Deprived battlecruiser is something you will definitely love if you prefer laser ships - 3 of 4 Faust modifications are going to have weapon bays which can fit Large Lasers! In exchange it will have a not-so-huge engineering bay, which basically means that you can't make it too special with special modules.

    Skullstar Eclipse Battlecruiser

Skullstar is a long awaited Eclipse ship which name describes it the best. It is designed only for active participation in battles and will not have a SpecOps modification - just consider it as a good strike force which needs some support ships.

    Gwydion Deprived Frigate

This ship confused us a lot of times and still has a lot of surprises inside. We are not going to spoil the surprise for you this time - let it be something interesting you will find while playing Starfall Tactics. There is only one thing we will tell you about - Gwydion is going to have assymetrical structure inside.

And that's not all - even more ships are coming next week! Stay tuned to read about them, a dozen new modules, new health bars and an important rework in quick matches.

As we promised, we are ready to give you more interesting infromation about upcoming changes in Starfall Tactics! It's definitely not even half of what we have already done, as there is simply too much for one news article. Don't worry - next news post will be even more interesting and we will share more cool things we have already done!

Control points rebalance and health bars

We did it. Once again. And we won't stop until we make sure that this part of the game is balanced properly - since it can influence the whole quick match gameplay, comeback possibility and battle dynamics. Here is the list of changes:
    • Not upgraded Control Points won't grant you Warp Points anymore.
    • To upgrade your Control Point you need to capture it with a ship and, while your ship stays in the area, push the upgrade button. If your ship leaves the Control Point area before you upgrade it, this point becomes neutral.
    • Warp Station upgrade will no longer grant additional Warp Points.
    • Now, If you play Co-op matches, every ally can upgrade control point, regardless of who captured it. Cost will be paid by the player who upgraded this point.
    • Each next Control Point you get will provide you less income. We did it to neutralize incontestable advantage you get from capturing more points than your opponent.

And, in addition to this important change, we reworked health bars - now they look even better and clearly represent the difference between dreadnought hit points and frigate hit points. We also added small skill icons you can see on the ship when it uses any special module - of course, effect will show you everything you need, so this is just a small tool to let you control the army more conveniently.

    New modules

Special modules are designed to give you more tactical opportunities - each of them gives you passive or active abilities and you are able to build the whole strategy even around a couple of them. So, another dozen of new modules will give you a better choice then ever, and here are four of them:
    • Engine Boost is an activatable module which increases all ship movement characteristics, including maximum speed, angular speed, accelaration speed and deceleration speed. It has a 2x2 size - a very convinient form for most ships in Starfall Tactics.
    • Weapon Overload module deals damage to your own structure on activation, but in exchange reduces cooldown time for all weapons installed on the ships. This thing has a usual 4x2 form making it available for many different ships.
    • Another passive module, a 2x4 Warp Homer, is a very good tactical feature allowing you to warp-in ships in a small zone near the ship with this module - just as your Mothership does. Perfectly fits support (SpecOps) ships.
    • Sensor Disabler module has a pretty self-descriptive name - on activation it disables all sensors of a target ship. So, it can make a single ship lose it's vision, but since it's a 2х4 module, it fits better on SpecOps ships.

    Halley Eclipse frigate

And, as a bonus infromation for this week, we will show you a new Eclipse frigate - Halley! It's going to be a very heavy ship with a good defence level, but in exchange its firepower will be average.

Get ready for the next news article since we are going to give much more interesting infromation about development progress and upcoming features!

Hey guys! Starfall Tactics development is going full speed ahead - there is a lot of stuff we need to prepare to fully implement Faction Wars, and we are pretty sure that you will like it. Anyway, you will be able to see and try it during the next test - and, of course, we are always looking forward to your feedback. Feel free to comment on this news article - we'd love to know what you think about it!

    New Interface

If you keep an eye on our Facebook or Twitter page, you should know that due to new features we are implementing, there will be important changes in the interface. But we couldn't imagine that our 2D artist, D.Van, would give a totally new look to it.

It is still in progress and this could be not the final look, but we already like it since a new font makes it all feel more "sci-fi" and cool. You can also notice that we use special signs in the upper left corner of all cards - it will now identify a ship's class (frigate, cruiser, battlecruiser, battleship, dreadnought or carrier).

    New modules

And we are ready to present another three modules, which are going to help you develop new great tactics - just read it and imagine how much you can do only with that!
    • Warp Interference
    • Stasis module
    • Nebula Generator
    Advisor ship rework

This always happens to older characters and units - one day you understand that they are not as good as ones you've just created, not as detailed and just look too different to leave it as it is. So we've just given a new life to Advisor - Deprived Dreadnought which loves ramming your ships in survival mode.

In case you haven't seen it before or just don't remember every detail of this huge dreadnought - here is a screenshot of an older model.

Hold your breath and prepare to see what's coming next - we are always excited to show you something new!

Hey, today we are going to tell you about Warp Points Income Changes, two new modules and the first Deprived cruiser - Abaris!

    Warp Points Income Changes

In previous articles we told you about Control Points rebalance and some other changes in Quick Matches. But there is another important thing we should tell you about - changes in WP income. As you know, in the beginning of the battle you get 9000 WP - and it's quite a big amount you can spend to warp in even a couple battlecruisers and a dreadnought. And that's where you think: Yes, I warp in my strongest ships, capture several control points, warp the rest of my fleet and that's it!

Current WP cost of your fleet can be seen on the top left of your screen.

But it would be too boring - so, we changed some WP income rules: Each ship you summon not only spends a certain amount of WP, but also requires some resource for staying on the battlefield or, in other words, has a maintenance cost, which reduces your WP income and depends on the ship cost. And, if you spend all you WP on warping in ships, you will have a low income which allow your enemy (let's think he summoned only a couple defensive ships) to collect more points, summon more ships, and become a real problem for you. That's where you decide: will you go full in (rush) on the first minutes, or will warp only a few ships to capture points and collect more resource, or go full defense, or will do something else. In this case, scouting is a very important thing since it's very important to know what your opponent is going to do and counter his tactics.

    New Modules

Each new module opens a new tactical opportunity for your fleet and also allows somebody to create a counter-tactic for existing strategy - for example, this Kinetic Wall is a perfect weapon versus ramming Advisors in PvE Survival mode, while Shield Overload allows a fleet which focuses on energy shields survive even physical damage and don't exchange their maneuverability to additional armor. And that's not the only way to use them - just read short descriptions and invent your own evil strategy!
    • Shield Overload module
    • Kinetic Wall module

    Abaris cruiser

Deprived faction gets the first cruiser-class (400m) ship - Abaris. This is a light ship with a good turn speed and side weapons in several modifications - a good scouting ship with ability to trick and shoot frigates. At the same time, ramming on this ship or fighting with other cruisers can be no easy task, except of some specific modifications, perhaps.

If you haven't visited our Facebook and Twitter pages last week, we ensure to do it now - there are also some new screenshots and information there!

Another week of Starfall Tactics development is over - and we are one step closer to getting the game ready for the next test! Colonies, wars for faction territories, new ships and modules, reputation, progression and many other things we might even haven't announced yet - all in progress and waiting for its moment of glory. So read fresh news and get ready for something great ;)

Aaand the first Eclipse cruiser is ready! Arco is a small Eclipse hammer, which will crash enemy frigates by ramming them and killing with its deadly weaponry.

Let us introduce new system we created for making your journey through open space more interesting - well, at least without meeting a fleet of 20 super heavy dreadnoughts - Detachment system!

Now, to enter Galaxy map (discovery mode, MMO part of the game) your fleet will have to send a detachment to a mission. Each detachment has a certain use and, depending on it, it can contain different number of ships of each class. For example, player could be able to choose 2 different ship sets by ship class: 1) 2 battlecruisers, 3 cruisers and 3 light frigates. 2) 1 heavy dreadnought, 1 battleship, 3 battlecruisers and 2 light frigates. Players fill these entire slots with ships he has in the fleet, and they will be available during Discovery session. Note that while smaller slots can't be filled with bigger ships, huge slots can have frigates and other smaller ships inside: this helps you keep all slots filled even if you don't have heavy ships in your fleet at all.

Note: this could be not the final look of detachment menu. WIP.

    How do I get detachments?
    • From the very start you will have some basic detachments you can use.
    • As a reward for gaining reputation levels with chosen faction.

Most detachments also can have a small bonus: +10% speed, for example - it depends on the function of the detachment. In exchange, there will be a sort of penalty - like -10% cargo which you basically don't need a lot of if you have a scouting detachment.

We've just created ping commands which you can use by holding the Alt button and clicking on the map! This option is frequently used in MOBA games, where you don't have time to stop and say something. In Starfall Tactics you have to control several units at a time, so you might have even less time.
