I'm kinda new here, but haven't gotten spam yet. I'm also not subbed anywhere.

    Well that's fairly useless...

Even if the owners are busy, it's sad that they have so completely abandoned this forum.

Yeah, I don't think that was their intention, but thats where we're at right now. I did hear back from Steve again and he said he was going to talk to Mike. I'll keep everyone updated (those who are left anyway).

I don't want to see that happen either, with all due respect to Frozen In Ice (I've signed up to his forum) I think his forum is the second best choice, I'd rather see this forum rejuvinated.

But... if the originators of Indiegamer Forum, for whatever reason, are going to let the spam lords take over, I don't think we have any choice. Even with moderation the amount of spam is driving long term members away.

So... this is the end? I was lurking here from time to time, and at some point noticed that there is not much point in doing it.

Well... then tell me people, where did you all go? Did you move to mobile/andro/ios area or just left the business? (* if the last one is the case then I suppose there will be no answer). Are you active on the other boards?

Some folks are slowly moving over to the one I created similar to this one. It'll take time of course to generate content, but at least it's spam free, has roughly the same categories and I keep the forum patched up. You're more than welcome to come on over if you wish.

I'm hesitant to leave for an untested forum because it seems the critical mass is still here. I'm going to be a late adopter, see where people start to go and follow, not lead. I've been more of a troll over the last few months anyway. I'd like to see the spam stop and see who stuck around. There are a lot of names I haven't seen in a while. There are enough people, both experienced and new, to warrant sifting through some of the more obvious spam. And, a critical detail, this domain is well known. If the traffic moves elsewhere, it adds another barrier to new as well as returning members. As a bit of comparison, the forum at "wordlab.com" has, literally, four active members but plenty of newbie posts and the forum admin is digging into their archive to post on their front page.

Frozen In Ice, what is your domain? You've mentioned it several times but you've provided no link.

I've included the link several times in my replies, not sure why it might not be showing up through the discussion though. I've added it to my signature and hopefully it appears when I hit the post button ;)

Thank you kindly for invitation, but honestly I don't see to much point i that at the moment. Actually, I'm just curious what happend here, and what are the prospects for the future. Is Indie gathered here, completely dead and what it means? Poeple got their ideas, made so much money, so they are no longer an Indie, or just left the business. I'm convinced that both of that is in some way true, but does it mean indie middle class from this forum flew away somewhere? That's it. :>

ps: and I'm close to 100 post what is nice also ;P

Once again, I offer myself to get here, almost on a daily basis and delete spam posts. I've been sistematically reporting any spam I find and I'm willing to help in any way I can.

I've been deleting about 40 spam posts per day just trying to keep this forum usable until I hear back from Steve/Mike. I know others are deleting alot of spam as well. I feel like this will eventually get resolved although I hope it is not after everyone has left already.

They can fix this in 5 min, but if they can't find 5 minutes to log-in and put a plugin, probably is time to leave for good. I used to visit daily, today was first time since about a month (last time I announced a new game, though I wonder why I bothered in a forum full of spam like this).

Ok, I was able to get in touch with Mike and he has given me access to the server. I'll be logging in tonight to update the forums to the latest patch release and I'll double check the registration/post settings as well to make sure they are restrictive enough. I'll post to let everyone know that the server will be down for a little while tonight while I update it and I'll post again to let everyone know it is complete.

Very nice! I look forward to the updates. I've already purchased all of the Viagra I'll ever need, a massive discography of Korean pop music and as soon as I get my share of the estate of a deceased Nigerian prince, I'll be able to get into coding full-time.
