Hi, I'm not a game developer, but I'm part way through making a game while teaching myself to code. I've noticed that it's very hard to get anyone to pay attention or feedback on. amateur games whatsoever. Would it be worth setting up a YouTube channel that allows people to submit clips of their games and posts them for other developers to view. Perhaps with polls for the best/most promising. Then see if it can be affiliated with other channels to get views from gamers. Ben
Yes, you can do that though how will you let people submit clips of their games? So you mean, you will do game review based on the clip submitted?
I'd add them to a playlist or channel and encourage mutual likes, views and comments. If the condition for adding your own game is that you like and comment on 3 games posted by other people - then everybody benefits with views, likes, comments and feedback. If the channel grows, then there may be scope to showcase the best / most popular. If the best / most popular are good enough - they may draw attention to the channel. Doing reviews is a good idea, but I don't have the time, passion as a gamer or outgoing personality for that. I'm more interested in getting exposure for budding developers that are talented, hard working and creative, but largely ignored.
Ah! I see but, will you give them commission on their submitted clips if it become popular? Uhmmm, I guess your idea is awesome!
I myself am an Indie developer, who is good at design but fails at programming. I'm striving to get my game made, but have had little luck.
Just continue creating your game, who knows it will be the next trend. I understand, programming is really hard but if you want to improve you can take Udemy classes.
Take online classes about programming. I'm not good too but, I'm currently enrolled online and so far, I'm learning a lot.
Hi guys I'm an experienced game developer, and an experienced programmer in general I can offer tips and experience and guidance on how to be good at coding Note that I am also either a) looking to join a team, or b) looking for people to join my team and make video games together. My video game company thus far has 1 shipped title. You can visit my websites at www.puzzlegalaxies.com and www.evermoregamestudios.com Thanks! Jeff
