We at Gamamoto are considering releasing our JavaScript game-story scripter and engine as a free download, which could be easily integrated in your browser game development cycle for creating, testing and integrating game story scripts in the rest of your game.

What the engine does is taking game-story scripts written in JavaScript and running them in both emulator mode or (of course) integrated in the real game, supporting maintaining state of environment, player and non-player characters.

Would anyone be interested in getting it? As it will require some (little) effort to remove some dependencies to our overall framework before releasing it, and we won’t do it if no one is interested. Let us know in comments below or e-mail (info@gamamoto.com).

basically it sounds interesting, but i have no clue what i would have to expect (and what use it may have).

can you explain it a bit more (not necessarily technical, just content wise).

also: javascript is interesting, but why? why not just a server language (php)? and: how general is the code, could it be ported to any object oriented language (java, c++...) ?

    best regards,
    D.

Yes! Very much so! There are a lot of web developers and novice game devs who would love to have a tool like this.
