Hi Guys, I am very pleased to announce the relaunch of OSAKit! For those of you who don't know about it, its a very simple system that will allow you to wrap up your games and programs and embed them into a browser. So you can use your normal tools and engines to make games that can easily go onto your web pages and works on all Windows browsers (IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Netscape......you name it). You can do all this without having to alter any of your code! Best of all we have made the standard version of OSAKit now FREE! Please download the latest player from here http://www.osakit.com/downloads/OSAKitProPlayer.exe To get it just go here: http://www.osakit.com I hope everyone has fun putting your games onto your sites Sphinx http://www.osakit.com
Hi Sphinx ... My WinXP machine refuses to install the ActiveX because it detects an unknown publisher? Is this a signing/certificate issue of some sort? Neat idea, although I know people aren't inclined to auto-install ActiveX components ... so it would be essentially a marketing/trust piece for the game/app developer using it to convince their audience that things are safe. So, does the "unknown publisher" thing need to be worked around by that end-point developer? Thanks, -Matt
Weird!! It should show Ancientsoft as a publisher!!! I will try that on a fresh machine and get back to you, meanwhile could you please try it on Firefox! Thanks in advance,
Here's a test build using this system: http://jgoware.com/bugshoot.htm Issues: 1) Auto full size of the browser, not good. We need to disable that. 2) Not working on 2 vista machines tested.
Also tested your "Deluxanoid" game on Vista, not working either. The music starts to play and never shows anything. You can't exit the page or close the browser either. I REALLY want this to work.
I just tested your link on my Vista PC and it seems to work OK Im using Vista Sp1 and UAC disabled. I am having some trouble packaging my own game though. Its a bit unclear to me what should go into the osa file. Is it just media files or the game.exe too? If the EXE should not be included should I upload it renamed to game.ply next to the osa file? confused...
Nevermind I got it to work eventually (had to put game exe in top directory). Here is a test link if anyone wants to try it: http://www.spelagon.com/mulver/webdemo/Mulver.html It will install VC++ redistibutable on each startup, in case youre wondering about the initial popup after game launch. Great product but found a couple of issues. Will be back later with more feedback.
To my surprise (bad luck) I have a problem with my certificate issuer and I am waiting for them to fix it!! I will do my best to sort things out as soon as possible! Could you please show/email me a screenshot! Specs please?!
If anyone would be so kind to test this link here: http://jgoware.com/bugshoot.htm And report the following: a) Did the game run? b) Did the browser auto enlarge or resize? c) Which browser / version are you running? Thanks for your time.
a) Yup. b) Nope. c) Firefox 3.0.3 The scrolling made my eyes go funny though. Is it supposed to scroll the top floor layer faster than the alien layer?
Thanks Luggage. Nevermind the game (it's crapola) more concerned with the plug in working. If you have time, perhaps give it a test on IE? Thanks.
