Just showing whats going on with my current project... I did all the sprites/tiles according to NES pallette just from studying them. This guy has a bunch of animations and I don't know if I went through them all. A few enemies are from assets. Again - I'm all self taught and this isn't a great play-through and ignore the stupid error at the bottom of the screen. Let me know what you guys think. This is probably 4 months into development in my free time. I'm cheating with the jetpack. This level won't have it enabled yet. The music is from a Castlevania game. The game is inspired by Castlevania, Vice Project Doom, Monster Party and Metroid mostly. I also made my tilesets and sprites for a lot of levels before going into actual building of levels. So this is just an example of one level. Do you guys prefer the black backgrounds of say Metroid, or the brick walls and textures like Castlevania? The mist is a particle effect and the camera has a filter on it to emulate a CRT TV.
