Recently, I've spent some time making this little freeware game for windows:

It's basically just a rythm-game where you control a car in sync with the music.

    Download is here:

I'm interested in any feedback at all really... does it run at all on your system, any bugs, what's the performance like on your slow asus eee, what you personally think about it... ideas for how it could be improved... Anything at all really that I could learn from so I can make better games in the future...

    Works fine.

    Font is hard to read.
It was difficult to understand what to do with arrow - line - dot in a circle.
Boring gameplay. You can just look at one point on the aim and press the keys.

    Yay

Yeah, I sort of agree... that's what I get for using a grafitti-style font.. I guess I got used to it while developing though... Something for me to think about, thanks.

I have a sort of instruction text scrolling by at the start of each track, but I think it's quite easy to miss - should maybe make that clearer

Hmm, ok... Any ideas how to improve that? Making fun games is very hard

Thanks for trying it out and give me feedback! Appreciate it!

Just wanted to add that I've put the source code (game and engine) up for download, available from here.

Source code is public domain, so if there's any stuff in there you think you can use, just help yourself to it :)

It's done in C++. Rendering done in software, using DirectX9 to present the final image, with fallback on DirectX3 and GDI if it needs to
