First question some of you are asking: Why is this an announcement? Well, because it is because this involves you guys as much as it involves me. Now, let's get down to business shall we?

    Exposition:
I was originally saving a lot of money for an off forum event, only to get banned after announcing said event. A friend of mine wanted me to use that wealth to begin an indie convention as he mentioned indiecon to me. While we brain stormed ideas it became increasingly clear that it won't be a success unless something big can happen to promote it.

So while I still plan to host my own indie convention, I myself wanted something to stir in the indie community as massive as it is. I wanted to make a boom, so I came to the conclusion of a crossover. Noting that the bigger titles such as Freedom Planet and Shovel Knight are easily recognizable for indie titles. Plus taking into account with my obsession of Marvel Secret Wars (1984) at the time. A crossover seemed to come into play which led to my question here.

A while ago I asked if there were any indie crossover games, I got an answer and I decided that I should get into making one as well. Though of course, I have my thoughts on this as you guys have as well... I've been trying my best to show off my support to all indies. As some can tell by my little magazine, I'm heavily determined on getting some voices out.

Now here, I wish to make a crossover game. Though there are a few things that I may require for all teams who'll come on board and of course. I have a Q&A for this specifically like last time.

The Game Engine and Type is still up for debate, as I would personally prefer a fighting crossover type game more or less a --- Smash Bros x Marvel vs Street Fighter --- or a Project X(Cross) zone type.... A mixture of the three will be a programming nightmare but is possible. To each their own however! This will be heavily discussed with everyone. Though I want a RPG x Fighter but that's just me...

-Now then, like my magazine. Here are the questions to answer -

    • How do I qualify for a character and or my company/team?:

You must have at least 1 released project containing your character and company, which shows that it is yours. As well as the source material since I don't want a "I made this out of nowhere like, right now m8" sort of answers.

Online free webcomics, games, and so on count but again you need to solidify that it is your property.
(At the bottom of this post you will see my entry as an example) your entry can be altered at anytime. So long so it matches with exactly what's going on with the project at hand, you have to enforce it in a new post as users post often and it will be a pain 10+ posts later, your edits are ignored. Please do tell me(currently) about your changes and you'll be noticed.
    • Must I pay for my entry?:

No, joining in is free. However this is a profit sharing situation of course. As we are all going to get a profit logically. Though the ones who do the most work as well as the most amount of content will be the one who get's the most profit. ain't trying to sound like..."If you don't do a lot, you ain't getting yo cut kid." some of you will just probably want to put in 2-10% of it and leave it at that. Which isn't to bad honestly...Others may want to completely take control of this project which won't happen. I have the admin seat and I'm content on getting this as a working circle.

    • Are there spots for concept artists and composers?:

There is a massive inflation of concept artists here, that is something that worries me personally so this spot maybe hard to cover, though for concept artists there isn't as much as an inflation. So here there are a lot more of an open opportunity. As you know during crossovers and what not there are usually a few teams from separate branches who draw the art work of characters and concepts. ( Marvel vs Capcom 2 is a good example for this actually. Western art being drawn in an eastern accord is easily recognizable even vice-versa...Well sometimes...)

For Companies( and teams) if you have your own composer, they themselves will need your approval to be in but here I'm trying to give everyone a chance since multiple composers can make a soundtrack have a sense of diversity. (Something that Fighters Megamix did do, however...They're ripped from other games by the same dev team but the different tracks gives it a sense of diversity, lazy as it is. Same with ALL OF SEGAS CROSSOVERS! )

These guys of course will be paid, those who don't have a background with a team or company. Who're free will have the chance of selecting a team to compose for if one is lacking of it.

They will also be sharing profit of unaligned teams (separate from companies and teams if they joined independently) so they'll like everyone else have there own % catalog.

Will this be 2d or 3d?

I want to enforce 2d mainly because of how easily it can be done, not to mention it's a time cruncher to an extreme degree! As to where with 3d models it takes a lot of time and unneeded checks to reach the perfection accord to many. I want it to be 2d though everyone else may vote otherwise. So it'll be a majority vote...

    • Game Engine preferred? Will there be ports to other places as well?

*sigh* Well...This one is the real Important one... We all know I'm at my prime with GameMaker Studio, though if this will be as Ambitious as I want it to be...I'm gonna need to be a lot more forceful, not to mention take a line or two from others. Though I WILL NOT BE THE ONLY PROGRAMMER!

There is indeed other programmers who'll be attached to this, if you have programming skills of any kind in game development it's welcomed, however....Here is the turning point. If we come face to face with more programmers who're aware of let's say....Unity > Unreal or GM:S < Unity etc,etc... You get the point.... The more we get who excel on one program then on others can be an issue. Though if it comes down to porting then we have a new beast to encounter...

I'm slowly trying to become a publisher on the Xbox-One and last year they gave the A-Ok for Gamemaker: Studio being on X-box one. Not to mention it's also allowed on the PS3/PS4/Vita (Formerly). While I have a publishing kit to bring Gamemaker Studio games to the Ouya, it also works with non-gamemaker games. To the Ouya also to reprogram the controls and etc....

Others might prefer Steam and Itch.io porting, well yeah...They'll be on either of those sites... While I prefer console over PC, I have to respect you guys on this and will follow through it. As for you Wii-U publishers....Yeeeeeeeeeaaahhh.... I'm not qualified in that department so if you're a publisher there. May need to notify me for those who want a port in there!

Spoiler for you...lets say creative bunch!
I've been around the internet and seen some of you guys prefer old school ports of newer games on older consoles, example here. Though if you want on oldie of a newy...Well that maybe difficult since size matters completely unless compression is needed or the games....Big enough....But...Hey...for the Future!

    • Will there be a story and if so...who'll be writing it and making edits to it?

This is all up to the companies/teams who participate in this event so again it's up to them if necessary. I'll be participating in the events of discussion of the game, however me and those writing it will be in a group specifically writing down the story and what not. It'll most likely be in Skype or Google Hangouts...
