This place worked well for last months meeting, so I think we'll try it again, unless people want to change it:

Come and join us on Saturday, June 9th at 6pm if you can make it.

    Hope to see everyone there.

I'm going. I've been trying to make these things for a while, but something always comes up.

I may show up to one of these again, but at that time I'll be at my own wedding reception!

Shoot, let's just move the meeting place to Hiro's reception then... is there an open bar? :)

    Congrats!

Just curious, what do you guys usually do during the meetup? Do you usually bring a labtop to the meeting too?

I've only been to a few, but the last one was six people (Cartman, Pyabo, Amaranth, Bryce, me, my wife) chatting about making games while we ate. We set up a laptop briefly so we could see this nifty game Pyabo is putting together. It wasn't a structured thing, i.e. nobody stands up and says "And now we will hear the treasurer's report!"

Personally, I liked seeing Pyabo's demo quite a bit, and wouldn't mind more show and tell. Seeing what people are working on or have recently finished is fun.

One of us almost always has a laptop. I didn't bring mine this last time, but luckily Erik did. As Erik said, we show demos of what we're working on and get advice from our peers. We also talk about what's been going on in these forums and find out if anyone is going to local events. There's also a sharing of information and recommendations on engines, resources, etc.

It's very informal and everyone is very friendly. My only wish is that we had more time to talk. :)

A few people have said that the meetings give them more incentive to work harder on their game, just to get it to the meetings to receive feedback.

...and gossip about all the forum members that don't show up. :)

Thanks for the positive feedback, Erik! Updated version next month.
