    Hello everybody

I have a question. Is it illegal to use this meme (doge) as the main character of my game? I mean in terms of copyright issues. I'm not gonna use this picture for the texture map. I'm gonna make a 3d model based on him and texture it with polypaint.

    Thanks

I am not a lawyer, but my instinct tells me you're in a very grey area. You can probably get away with it if you're not explicitly referencing the thing as you just did here :) Most of the big successful meme animals, like GrumpyCat, are protected by IP rights.

    Madmonsterrr,
except if this dog is a very famous movie star, you should be ok. If he's not a mongrel, then he probably looks like thousands of other dogs of the same breed.
And according to this picture, he doesn't have any distinctive feat (like 2 eyes of different colors, or a specially shaped mark on his fur, etc...), so he's generic.
It's like you'd not be able to create a horse in a game because someone took a pic of a horse...

Reminder: I'm not a lawyer...
