    Hi Guys and Girls,

I'm making this thread to pose an interesting question, i am a solo developer and have just started my journey into the game development world. As i understand and accept there is a variety of skills that a solo developer need to learn.

In what order do you believe these skills should be learned, or if some are learned at the same time. I will list what I believe the main ones are, keeping in mind that the skills I am referring to are only development skills.

Art 3D/2D (whatever applies to you)

Music - Background tracks/ sound effects

    Coding - Visual / C# ect

    Engine - Unity/Unreal ect

any other skills you think are essential.

    Design - level design ect

Let me know what you think.

from my experience, i am music and graphic design artist first, and when the comes to making games that is not very good. so art and music should be last on the list, it gets in the way. Coding should dev come first

Design and Graphics are very important. As players, these two are the first being noticed. Others to follow..

Hello! Coding and art are the two most important skills. Coding makes things work and art creates those "things".
They are two very different skills, so the best you can do is to focus on one and find a partner who can focus on the other.

Ok course, before you create something, you need to know what to make... so game design is important too. Luckily, today there are so many games that taking inspiration is easier than ever (on the contrary, being original is very hard).

I assumed all game developers are good at coding. Its the very basic that one should learn that's why I enrolled online to be an experienced developer.
