Hello. I'm Biffy, and I'm basically just a lone new game developer. My weapon of choice for now is using SpriteKit for iOS in Swift. Everything self-taught, and given an idea, I can somehow hack my way through research on how to implement for my game.

As per the title, I need new friends ... In my current circle of friends, I don't really have anybody who's doing game development (My day job is in product R&D). This post is to reach out to people in a similar situation or anybody really who wants to connect. This is my first time to reach out, and I've always been a lone developer. I realize that I need to create new connections in the indie game dev scene if I want to further grow, so if anybody is interested....

At the very least, I'm looking forward to joining some of the threads here.

Welcome to the forums. A lot of people post in the HELP WANTED - UNPAID section to find like-minded people of different skills to partner with. I would also suggest going to any local conferences or expos like PAX, Boston FIG, IGF or whatever and so some networking while you are there to meet people. It's pretty common for some Computer Science students at colleges to be into game development so you can post a bulletin or whatever in local colleges to see if there is any interest.

Thanks. I do attend some conventions here in Tokyo, but I'm still trying to find the best venue for indie developers here in Japan for me. I recently went to TGS 2016, and the indie game section there was good and interesting, but I guess mostly steam and vr based development.

I'll try in the other threads. Thanks for the direction.

    Story of my life.

Not helpful, I know. Just thought it was a good title.

Cool. Have any site where I can listen to some samples? I'm just using placeholder music and sounds in my prototypes, so I'm really interested.

Hi. I'm Biffy, currently in Tokyo, Japan. Am currently working on my first big project, using Swift and SpriteKit for iOS devices.

My interest is more into 2D action games like platformers, but my recent project is more of a shmup.

How do you pronounce your name?

Should we talk in a different thread? I believe this is not a forum section for chat?

Welcome! I am new as well. Currently learning Blender on my iMac. After I have learned that I will be learning Unity then the Unreal Engine. Maybe we can come together with some ideas.
