I'm going to make a pokemon-inspired game but I don't really have an idea where to start. I tried making the animation, etc. and learned Android app/game development. It doesn't specifically talks about how to make some sort of battle interface. This is where I'm stuck in.

I believe I can use a button to make the character move across a map, but when engaging to a Battle Activity, I'm confused on what to do. Should I make an image view with a movie class or use surface views with drawable animation instead? Which is more recommendable to do? Thank you! :)

i hate being blunt but... Analyze the pokemon game engine, it's like any other game engine except heavily limited.

From there designs and names and programming.
