Thanks, I can't quite believe it myself ... especially considering the other games on the list! I'm trying to get a big update of Pi Eye finished asap so I can display the award image :D

Nice review of ID there. Maybe this will motivate me to finally finish up the level editor?

Great! I don't like TD games that much but I played ID recently and it impressed me greatly (and it is so much more than just another TD game)

ID really is a well done game. And Aquaria seems like a no-brainer. I can hear that drom-roll for Game of the Year coming... (I'd put my money on Aquaria, but I can always hope!)

Role-Playing Game of the Year posted: http://www.gametunnel.com/articles.php?id=658

...and that hits all the major genres, so Andy, now you can start guessing what the Top 10 will look like :).

(though honestly I'm still not totally sure on the final order...)

HAHA, OK, here's my guess as to how it will look: (not my opinion, just my guess as to GameTunnel's opinion)
    1) Aquaria
    2) Depths of Peril
    3) Venture Arctic
    4) Immortal Defense
    5) Mr Robot
    6) Knytt Stories
    7) Darkside
    8) Secret of Bird Island
    9) Galcon
    10) Reach

Congrats to everyone so far on their wins and top 5 finishes. I really gotta give Mr Robot a try sometime.

May I suggest this Indie role playing game for the 2008 awards:

    http://www.basiliskgames.com/book1.htm

It was made by one person over 2.5 years and is REALLY good, like the old Ultima games. Highly recommended.

Yeah, Eschalon may be a case of getting a game too late to properly consider. However, I really felt the story was rather flat, at least the first few hours of it.

    Special Awards are up: http://www.gametunnel.com/articles.php?id=660

The Top 10 is written and waiting to be posted.
Website is being stripped of all non-essential server intensive stuff to try and avoid the yearly overload.
12 hours of my Saturday have just disappeared...looking forward to a break with great anticipation :)
