I submitted a game to a portal and they could not get it to run on their system so I thought I would create this very small framework test and hopefully get some feedback and try to see a pattern where it might be failing at.

    http://www.dxgame.com/download/dxgfwtest.exe

The linked file is 440k and is an install program that installs the game engine in the system folder (dll, com object) and the rest goes into the app folder. There's also an uninstall program for easy removal after you're done testing.

The engine and demo are both written in Visual Basic 6 so you'll need those runtimes on your system along with DirectX 8.1 or higher. Normal Windows XP systems should already have everything you need.

If everything is working you should see a few balls moving around the screen.

You can press ESC to exit the test.

The demo asks to email the log file if any problems arise, but feel free to reply here if you can't get it to work. Thanks for your time!

Ran fine on my system.. both in Windowed and Full Screen mode. Saw plenty of balls.. some rotating, some scaling and some blended.

Thanks for testing the framework everyone. Frustrating that we get such a high compatibility and then it doesn't work on one of the biggest publisher's test box! (XP system at that!) Bummer...

Failed for me fullscreen, just got a black screen and couldn't exit. First time I've had to reboot this laptop in months. Windowed mode worked fine.
