Default Grubby Games Releases FizzBall

Grubby Games Releases Fizzball

Nov 6th 2006, Grubby Games, www.grubbygames.com, is proud to announce release of its new independent game, Fizzball, available on both Mac and PC. Based on the classic brick busting style, Fizzball creates a pleasantly fresh update appropriate for all ages. Bounce bubbles, rescue hungry animals, and solve a mystery, all at the same time!

Something strange has been scaring the animals that inhabit the forests on a group of islands. It’s up to Professor Fizzwizzle, and his bubble-like Fizzball to whisk them away to safety at the animal sanctuary. Watch as the Fizzball starts off small and then grows enormous enough to envelop large animals like cows and horses.

Fizzball features 180 levels, 40 bonus levels, 60 adorable animal species, a special kids’ mode, and numerous trophies to unlock. The game offers frustration-free brick busting gameplay, a global high scoring competition, and a 60 day money-back guarantee.

Vancouver-based Grubby Games was formed in October 2004 with a simple goal: To make accessible, polished games that are fun to play. We feel that something is being forgotten in this era of multimillion-dollar games with cutting-edge graphics. As lifelong gamers, we understand that flashy graphics are much less important than solid gameplay. We're passionate about developing games that are beautiful, easy to learn, and above all, fun. We want to provide you with games that we would love to play ourselves!

Great work, very good mixture of arkanoid and katamari. I love the cell shading graphics.

Excellent work,

Hello Matt,

OK, probably not but I'll try it anyway :

Is there a little discount for Professor Fizzwizzle owners?

You know that I'm a fan of your work, right ? Does that help as well?!?!

Best regards from

Excellent game, from what I could see of it. Other family units hogged playing time on the demo and I mostly watched. It was a huge hit and I even thought the kids game was cute - something I hadn't looked at in your earlier beta.

Congrats!

Thanks for your words of encouragement, everyone! And thanks to everyone who gave feedback on the beta, as well

OK I bought the game - couldn't stand the nagging.

But I got the system resources warning again. Later on in the game this time (I think) and when I turned the weather effects back on again it seemed fine. Is this just my system or is this still a known issue?

After the feedback we received, we made the game much less sensitive to the slowdown caused by weather effects. It now lets you keep playing even when the framerate takes a pretty big hit... but it's still not perfect, apparently!

The way it works is that if you turn the weather effects back on after having received that warning, your player profile will never receive that warning again. So as long as the performance is good enough for you, it won't bother you from now on

We must have crossed !
But like I said: it is well worth the money! Maybe for your next incredible addictive game

I like the way you handled the Kids mode problem. My little niece was not able to hit the little bubbles in the beginning. The security bar usage will prevent her from getting frustrated! Thanks for that change!

OK, back to playing!

Best regards from

Played a few stages and I liked it. Very clean, pleasant and unusual use of arcanoid idea. Kids will love these animals .
Works fine on my machine. The only one thing I've noticed was difference in mouse sensitivity between full screen and windowed modes.

Really fresh take on arcanoid. I love it. Casual stuff is not usually my cup of tea, but I found myself playing it a long time. The animal sounds are funny.

Only complaint I have is that when there's only 1 or 2 objects left, hitting them takes a long time and is annoying. But this is the usual problem with all brick busting games...

Ah, but unless you're aiming for collecting trophies you don't *need* to smash all the blocks... just rescue all the animals!

The biggest complaint I've had was from my Jon - he played all the way through hoping for a giraffe to appear and there are none! Whyever not??

Hehe... we really dropped the ball there! Originally I decided not to include a giraffe, since it might seem strange for such a tall animal to fit inside the FizzBall. But in retrospect it probably wouldn't have mattered - we could just fold up that long neck and it would be fine. Ah well... yet another thing we could add to the sequel, if we decide to make one!
