Default Qatfish is dead, Long live Qatfish!

Just wanted to let people know that I took down Qatfish today. It was laregly becoming a spam wasteland and while it had a consistent readership, it wasn't something that I felt I could maintain anymore.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, Qatfish.com was a game-dev related blog aggregator with a digg-like promotion system. I built it while I was burnt out after finishing Venture Africa as a way to help promote other indies and throw my own occasional blog posts into the mix. Mr. Phil helped out quite a bit with the site in its later years.

As for the rest of Pocketwatch Games, things are well. I took an 8 month or so hiatus to do some contract work, while keeping Pocketwatch in stasis. Venture Arctic recently came out in stores, Venture Africa will get a re-release soon, and my brain is feverishly craving some time to work on the next game.

Thanks to everyone who read or supported Qatfish!

R.I.P

I enjoyed the priviledge of being added to Qatfish, but all good things must come to an end I suppose.

hope things go well with the releases!

As a funny little anecdote, on one of the Macs a friend of mine purchased qatfish was somehow in his default list of websites that shipped with the machine. Thought that was interesting.

Shame, thanks for running it, I liked it (and was honoured to get on it). I guess it'll free up some productivity not having to check it each day ;-)

Sad to see it go... it was a good experiment for you at least I hope.

I must confess that I was one of your faithful visitors until I came across a happy little thing called Google Reader, which once I put a bunch of sites into gave me more than enough to read on any given day.

R.I.P. Qatfish. Your fishy reign was too short.

Too bad, I always hoped it would take-off. I was happy to help.

Well, that explains my difficulties in getting to it.

R.I.P.

Qatfish.

Whatever happened to that thread?
