Question Prices on music and sfx

I am working on action/adventure game and since I am not musician at all, I would like to hire composer. I would like to know how much would music and sfx creation cost?
I will need 5 music tracks and whole set of sound effects.
    Game is budget/indie.
    Thank you.

I just about soiled myself before I realised you meant per minute OF MUSIC.

I'm working on several casual games right now, and I'd be happy to do more. I'll offer customized original music for $250 / track. My portfolio is available at www.2eastmusic.com

Licensing music is also an option if $250 a track is out of range.

Also, so you know, A-list composers can range up into the 2000$ per minute range. Some also go higher as well. I realize your question was in regard to an Indie Game, but just figured I would also provide this information.

How much are you looking to spend?

If you like my style, maybe we can work something out. If not, good luck with your project in any case.

    Default Just another plugg.

I find $50-$500 per minute to be extremely overpriced! I have been providing audio for commercial games for close to three years, and charge nothing close to that. If anyone is looking for commercial quality audio at an indie budget feel free to drop me a line. (Ianewell@yahoo.com) Samples and recommendations are available.

Default discounted music for students and upstarts

I am also exploring ways to offer professional music at discounted rates for startup developers, mainly through retaining the publishing and resale rights to custom made material. I'm also considering an offer of bundled songs as a "starter pack" at a lower fixed rate based on the type of game. Though I haven't really fleshed these ideas yet, I'm definitely open to feedback.

If this is something you're interested in personally, please contact me.
