Hey, I would recommend reading the Portfolio FAQ - your topic is not in "order".

Anyway, I have to say I've seen your art before and think it looks awesome. Just my opinion.

I'd recommend Max's models. We've used his stuff plenty of times for various projects to get them started and will be doing so for the foreseeable future (i.e. until we can hire a full time artist).

Cant go wrong with the price either!

    Thanks a lot Max!

Beware. Looking at Max's portfolio will inspire you to make way more games than you have time to do.

If I were going to pick a gamedev Dream Team, he'd be in it.

    Thumbs up

I noticed in the gallery that you did some models for wardog studios' Force of Arms. Sweet!

Don't hesitate to contact me by e-mail posted on a website.
We can propose quite a useful solution like custom non exclusive art that drops the cost of model compared to exclusive art and lets you receive custom art you desire.
I'll explain more here on how we work.
We've almost finished converting most of our models to Torque engine format, an expert was hired especially for this not easy task.
We recently released updates for old assets, so all who owned them before, receive free updates. For example:
We had simple city collection that grown into 3 styles urban set. Day, Night and abandoned cities. What is quite handy is that you simply switch textures without making any changes to mesh and receive complitely new city. There are fly through animations also along with real-time 3D demos.

We also updated Sci-Fi elite trooper asset, now there are 7 girls with various clothes armors.

And another nice update is our Troll monster model with 20! texture styles now. From shiny cartoony ones to dirty dark horror style.

Upcoming are some fantasy characters: Skeleton warrior and archer, zombie, and a male character set with variety of clothes and armors.

Hehhee... I just had to get the damn city set... dont tell anyone

My vote is for "world war two village" set

Incidentally max, I think you could push the polycount up a bit on some of the buildings in the city set. I'd like to see individual windows (especially ones that are lit in the nighttime scene) mapped with a seperate texture, so that we can render that with a glow pass.

What other stuff... hmm, I'd like to see some more high-end stuff, particularly something with normal maps etc.. It'd be a challenge for you and a good method of showing artists what is possible with a given engine.

Oh, and some scenes with baked in lighting? ok.. a bit of a "wouldnt it be cool if" list.

    Great stuff anyway, highly recommended.

It was originally built for bigger city scenes so we kept polycont reasonable for building over a mile scenes. For a driving game for example.
There are specular maps included btw that can be perfectly used for glow pass. As well as for specular effects on windows in a daylight.

Yeah, sorry about that, I was being a bit dim, of course you can just glow/bloom the spec map.

    Default Hmmm, nice and shiney..

I've been eyeing up some of these models for a while now, even worked them into my design document for a game I've just started with some colleagues.

The drop ships look fantastic, well I was waiting for just the smallest reason to buy these and now there's the 33% discount before January the 1st so it looks like I'll be getting them definately now..

Quick question, is there a possibility that you will be putting up the Sci-Fi motherships that are used in the drop ship videos, the one with the skull and cross bones on the side ?

Anyway, I'm off to buy them now, bye bye

I don't suppose you've got any gun towers knocking about for my hobby project 3D tower defence game ?

I could actually probably afford a few hundred quid for a decent range of stuff, but I can't really justify paying proper money, as it's meant to be a bit of R&R and not a commercial job.

You could look on it as a loss-leader as we currently have zero artists on staff and no black book of good freelancers

I actually missed those. You've got a sale in a day or two when I fix some stuff.

If you do custom stuff, do you have a brochure you can mail me or something ? We often need quickies doing, and occasionally longies

Has something happened with the mech walkers? I can't find them on your site any more?

Someone was asking me about mech models today and I was just about to show them yours when I found they weren't on the site.

We are finishing a major update for that collection. More mech designs + lots of custom weapons.

I bought the amazon heroine and the skeleton pack to prototype a roguelike, they're great work. Now I just need to actually do the prototype.

Oh cool! I've passed on the URL and told him to keep watching. From what I remember of it, it looked great, so I'm sure he'll be happy with the collection when it's ready.

Mech robots pack is back. It was a huge update and hope they look better now.

    Full 3d models list here

It now consists of 4 unique meshes + 26 skins for each.
(1 texture pattern is applied to everything with our usual technique.)
2048x2048 texture size for best quality, though can be reduced to 1024x1024 with minor quality loss.
+15 weapons, that use same 26 skins for main mechs. Some of them below.

    33 animations
Polygon count 3-6K triangles per robot.
    More info

Can check new video of robots in action here
