Very clever marketing tool guys - hope you get a ton of new visitors/customers!
Hey all!
The official new release on this will go out tomorrow, but as we're currently live with it I thought I'd mention it here as well.
Reflexive turns 9 years old this weekend!
As a part of the 'anniversary celebration' the full version Ricochet Xtreme is being given away for the next month on Reflexive.com.
You can get it here: www.reflexive.com

Sweet! But, if you wanna get Dugg, you may wanna change the link. Right now the link is to submit a story, not digg the story... (And you may want to use the "official" Digg button - diggers may not notice it.)
Additionally, anyone with ad blockers won't see the promotion on your front page.
Hope it works out for you guys!![]()

Uhm... why? Its just some image (was there an additional popup?).
Thanks, wanted to follow up on this.
The digg link we are using is, I believe, correct. It is what Digg suggests you use, and I checked the experience against some other sites such as Gamespot and CNET and they are using the same link. If you have another one though I'd love to take a look at it. (here's a cnet story for comparison http://news.com.com/Solar+start-up+S...3-6124486.html)
Also the button is actually from Digg as well (just color shifted). It's here: http://digg.com/tools/buttons
On the front page piece I wondered as well. Did it block on your web browser? It is just an image, though it is similarly sized (though not identical) to a banner add, it's just another image on the page.
Appreciate the thoughts, definitely want to do what we can to increase awareness!![]()
Oh damn... I think our next game will be released a few weeks later because I have to play Richochet now all the day![]()
Okay just kidding... btw: great idea! You will get a lot word-of-mouth-marketing for sure!

My latest game: Captain Backwater
My other games: Temple Of Tangram, Absolute Blue, Psychoballs, Atom Antics, Kabama, Defense Of Yano
Thanks a lot. Like it wasn't already hard enough selling my own arkanoid game for $9.99, and you go and pull a stunt like this...![]()
Congratulations on the 9 years!![]()

This is what I would recommend for the Digg button:
From http://diggtheblog.blogspot.com/2006...r-website.htmlCode:<script> digg_url = 'http://digg.com/gaming_news/Reflexive_makes_Ricochet_Xtreme_free_for_download'; </script> <script src="http://digg.com/api/diggthis.js"></script>
And congrats on the anniversary!
Then something fishy's going on. The link I have is the following:
http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url=www.reflexive.com...
Notice the "/submit?phase=2" which is, incidentally, the URL to submit a new story. (http://digg.com/submit) Following the link on Reflexive leaves me with the following:
http://solaristudios.com/share/indie...exive_digg.png
EDIT: It appears as though the link on cNet you pointed to is taking a strange approach - it seems to let you submit the story to digg, not actually digg the existing story. That could clarify things a bit...
I was thinking of something like the "real" Digg button: http://sandbox.sourcelabs.com/diggbu...ion=&css=#code (Of course, modified to remove dependencies on sourcelabs.com) EDIT: Matthew's above example looks better.
It did. There is "ad_" in the image's URL, which immediately tags it as blocked with most ad blockers.
Hope this all helps!![]()

Thanks!
On the code I'm looking into what Matt sent. Notably, that image you show is the same thing I get when I go through that CNET link that I posted or a Gamespot link. Are you getting something else when you go through the CNET link above? From reading on Digg, what you we're seeing is what is expected.
Renaming the image! Thanks for the help on the issue![]()
I'm getting what's in that image. But it's not digging the story. If you check the C|NET digg story, my vote hasn't been registered, even after repteated clicking of that link. (You can see for yourself - it's only got 1 digg, and not by me.) It's certainly not working from this end. Hope Matt's code works!![]()

It's only for 1 month. 30 days from now Ricochet Xtreme will be $19.95 again. So you just need to hope that your potential customers don't see our promotion in the next month. ;-)
Actualy, I belive this wil just get more people interested in breakout games. After they finish Ricochet Xtreme they will be ready to buy another breakout game. (lets all hope)
