Welcome to the forums, Dave. Just curious -- you launching into doing your own indie games or are you launching your own sound studio / looking to do sound for others?
A friend of mine pointed me to this board to check it out. Just looking around and hopefully I'll find a way to contribute. I worked for BioWare for about 6 years and went out on my own a couple years ago. I was a sound designer and implementer(is that a word?) for every project from BG2 up to Hordes of the Underdark and was the audio producer on KotOR and HotU. I am hoping to both pass on and gain knowledge through this forum and I just thought I'd say "Hi" to everyone.
Right now mostly looking for independent contract audio work. Anything from initial consulting all the way through to handling VO and music. I've worked on big and small projects, so I am pretty well open to hear any proposals. Well, except working for freeOriginally Posted by TimS
Of course advice and meaningful exchange of ideas is always gratis.
Hi Dave! I just started posting in these forums myself.

Hey Matt!! Did I ever tell you that you're my hero... ummm, I mean that Psychonauts is in my top 3 games of all time now? It would almost be number one, but Meat Circus kind of killed that.Originally Posted by stiill
Haha, thanks. Yeah, Meat Circus is a long, sad story, and I'm probably better off if I never recount it to anyone.Originally Posted by Dave Chan
Glad you liked the rest, though! (And if you've still got your savegames and didn't beat it, there are always the cheats.)

It's great! I haven't been at it that long, so I'm still building up a client base, as far as making money in the short-term goes. I get to work on my game in any spare moments, and the contracting is actually really fun and interesting (and addictive).Originally Posted by Dave Chan
It looks like you're nabbing some pretty high profile audio work. And you've managed to stay independent for a couple years now (my current burn rate won't sustain that). Congrats!

Nope, it's not just you -- we're not done with the sound yet.Originally Posted by Dave Chan
