Technically isn't Jewels Of Atlantis their first casual title?

According to your website, the minimum specs needed are:

    Processor: 600 MHz or above
    RAM: 128 MB
    Video: 32 MB
OS: Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP with DirectX 8 installed

With detail set to "very low" in the default 800x600, the framerate was dipping into the low 20's on my Intel 2.93ghz Box (Extreme Graphics). I'd be very concerned about older machines running this game to say the least.

Otherwise, obviously it's a great title and plays well! $24.95 is an interesting price point. Little high in my opinion, but perhaps the casual market is ready to pay a higher dollar amount?

Looks good and bet will sell but still highly suggest change that angry dinousaur on the main menu to something less angry and kiddie like.

Those +10 etc text thingies are one level higher than the tip boxes, but it should be the other way around.

Oh and I like that autoplay exit nag screen.

Ran great for me... I think the sfx in this game are very well done, and the visuals too of course...

So now Yaroslav can buy some more of those snakeskin boots with the profits :-)

    Default $24.95

Very curious about how this works out for you. Have you had any feedback about the pricing from the portals? Brian, what are your thoughts on this price point?

    Thanks,

"But my graphics card isnt as bad as yours." - Well, not only it is my card, but probably the card in use by the majority of casual game players. err.. at least some form of integrated board if not Intel. I remember seeing some stats that Intel was the most widely distributed gpu.

    Yeah Mike, you got me
    Hope it will...
Speaking of SFX I am getting as much praise for Jurassic Realm as I got blame for Jewel of Atlantis SFX

Ariel did great job on JR sound.

I was trying bring attention on these boards when I released JoA back in the days and priced it 24.95 but seems like noone noticed. I really think we should start pricing casual games higher and my pricing experiment with JoA did well. I know portals are thinking this way too but we do not need to wait to make first move.
BTW, Reflexive still sells JoA at that price point and I think it's been doing well.

Perhaps it's just me, but in windowed mode I can't seem to close the window, access other windows, tab, etc. Nor can I minimize, resize, etc. I was able to bring up the Windows Task Manager and finally I had my mouse back. ? ?

Yea, office machines mostly. Well, the chip you're using is even way slower than a GF1DDR. Its really pretty much the most horrible chip I can think of.

And people who are using it should be used to low framerates.

So... well, I dont really see your point. The minimum system requirements are just fine as long as the graphics card isnt completely crippled (just something mid-end from the time where 600mhz CPUs were mid-end). And since they (most likely) intend to sell the game for years to come, its really a non-issue (the newer integrated chipsets are less crap).

The graphics and sounds are awesome but the gameplay is just click click click nearly blindly (because of the effects and the fact that three or more matches are everywhere) which got very boring after a few minutes. While the game is pretty much like collapse, making it even much easier than that is just crazy.

But what about other portals like BigFish & Real? Did you sell at 24.95 on other portals too?

Not really. Major portals more interested in universally changing the price. They are not interested in squeezing one single title.
