I'll try to make it on June 1st but any time between June 14th and 25th would be much better for me.
It's about that time again, folks. A few beers, a few appetizers, a few game nerd conversations. Time for another San Diego Indie Game meetup!
I'm proposing next Thursday, June 1st at 7:00, somewhere new, perhaps the Karl Strauss Brewery right by the Sony offices in Mira Mesa. I have my first retail royalty check to celebrate.
I've got an additional two people that I'm working with now that should come. Let's try to make a new attendance record. That means you, Russ! Also, if anyone knows Raph Koster personally, please extend an invitation to him. He works for Sony, but he can be honorary indie.
**EDIT** The date is now officially June 15. See you there!

OK, June 15 instead? That gives me 3 whole weeks to salivate over the beautiful piece of Ahi that I will be eating.
I feel like I need a few more titles under my belt before I can hang with you big boys.![]()
PLEASE! James may be a big shot; I just talk like one! I'd really love to meet any other San Diego-based indies. I've getting sick of the same old group of nerds![]()
Sounds great to me. Count me in for sure.Originally Posted by DrWilloughby

Guys, have a virtual beer for me then. I will be out of the country May 31 - June 27.
(Btw, Raph doesn't work for SOE anymore, and when he did, it was in Austin.)

Ah, though I read on his blog that Raph was in San Diego these days... someone other than Sony?
I will do my best to make it.
I'm sure James will keep me up on the date.
I have suggested and think it would be cool to do a San Diego/LA meet up at the Reflexive offices sometime as they are sort of mid-way between the two.
I smell a rat... uh I mean a recruitment session. Only if there's beer and VERY HIGH QUALITY CHEEZITS.Originally Posted by cyrus_zuo
Sounds like fun, you should plan that. Count me in.
I think he was tied to San Diego while he was SOE in that Austin was writing the code for SWG while the art was being done here. (Or was it vice-versa?) Yeah, perhaps he moved here after quitting since he saw how shangri-la the weather is here. I would fire him an email if you really want to wash down some beers with the guy.![]()

They were always at Wahoo studios (Ninja Bee), which made it easy to talk and show off games (lots of computers, perfect environment for games). In talking to James about the San Diego one he mentioned that it is often hard to show the games due to locations. That got me thinking that we could do it here.
See all honest good intentions.![]()
I second the LA/San Diego meeting idea. Or maybe move the date to Friday or Saturday? I'd love to join in but I can't make the roundtrip drive from LA to San Diego on a Thursday night.![]()

I'm also down for a San Diego/LA meeting at some-point, but on a Saturday/Sunday to avoid rush hour traffic.
In the meantime a San Diego meeting would be fine as well. Though I have a baby on the way in the next few weeks, so my availability is up in the air. However if do make it, I have a game to show.
Has this one officially fallen off the radar?
If we are doing a San Diego meet-up in June, then I can try to play a San Diego/LA meet-up here in August/Sept time period (or earlier, July?, if there is interest)
Nope, I was just waiting till the date approached... I'm still on for June 15.
I'll edit the top post too...
I'm down if it gets moved to June 28 or later.![]()

I am still in for June 15th but after June 26th is questionable for me.

Late June would be better for me. Right now I'm questionable for the 15th.
If Andy is going to be the only one there on the 15th then I will probably head down to Ocean's Eleven instead. :-)

I'll be there, as will my new coworker, Donnie Bugden, rain or shine. I'd love it if others came. If not, I'm still planning on enjoying my Ahi.
So it sounds like it will be me, cyrus_zuo, DrWilloughby, and Donnie Bugden this Thursday at 7:00 PM at Karl Strauss Brewery right by the Sony offices in Mira Mesa. Could you please post the exact address? Thanks.
As usual, I'll bring my laptop if anyone wants to use it. Just be sure to bring your stuff on a flash drive or a CD. Don't expect an Internet connection.

See you there!
Just a reminder to everyone. 7:00 at Karl Strausss, tonight. I'm assuming no one is bringing SOs. Be there.
Something came up so I might have to ditch. Hope to be able to make it though!
Thanks everyone for coming out! It was a blast, especially when Russ started dancing on the tables. Not getting his cherry Coke makes that man CRRRRRAZY!
You mean that wasn't Cherry Coke I was drinking?
