    Default Where to promote shooters

Some portals are a little shooter friendly, but barring the big sites, if you just wanted to promote a shooter game directly yourself, where might you go. I know there are various web sites that are lists of just shooter games and so on. Looking for a list of good shooter/arcade specific non-portal promotion sites that I can hit with screens/downloads/press etc..

Well Steve. The basics is simple as everything else on our Earth.

You just issue press release and check in logs what websites pay attention to your creation (use Google Alerts if you are lazy enough to watch for this by your own). That's it - you get shot amount of things at the same time - find friendly sites warned about your game, create a buzz, check peoples reaction etc.

Is Andy the new Seth Godin ?

But the "-dev" thing is a little problematic. There are shmup developers by far IMHO. I suspect most of the sites I know about indie games only devs visit and not big masses of players(diygames, "we are not dead" page, game-dev, 1goodgame, gametunnel (not sure?)....)

I think various popular blogs (jay...) and arcade/action sites with flash/dl mix of games are the places when you can contact the players.
