Andreas,
That is very very cool. I'm quite interested in finding out more about your tools.
I designed and built a number of vision input games based on Intel and Logitech technology in 2000-2001. Most of the games we created ended up only being used as technology demos as there wasn't a large enough base of web cams in place to sell a CD-ROM of vision games through normal retail channels.
With your technology it would now be possible for us to cost effectively bring all those games we designed to players online.
Very cool.
Cheers,
Denis

I've always admired the stuff you guys do at PlayDo.
Excellent work as usual! As I mentioned before already on the Director's mailing list I hope you license out the technology at some point.![]()
All I have to say is... WOW.
that has got to be the best trailer I've seen to date! It looks amazing how you implemented the video with the game. No Idea how you do it, but definately something that looks like a lot of fun!
simply Gorgeous!.
yesterday i was looking at :

and today you shoot this superb demo! I'm jaleous i must say!
Did you write your own system or did you use an existing sdk ? ( if so i'd be interested in knowing which one )
pat.
Wow, many posts. Great!
There is a developer version in the pipeline but I can't say when I will get the time to complete it, having to focus on our own products (and client projects).Originally Posted by SLotman
That sounds very interesting. What technology are they developed in?Originally Posted by dburger
Thanks, hopefully a license version will be out sooner than laterOriginally Posted by Chris Evans
It's our own system made from scratch. There are some webcam Xtras around that does simular tracking but I have found them to be pretty slow.Originally Posted by patrox
Man, that's awesome! The input looks sensitive enough to articulate the ball in very specific directions/arcs. Impressive indeed!
Is the soundtrack gonna be just drum loops?
How does the multiplayer work?
Thanks, yes the ball is pretty responsive and easy to control. Or maybe I just have played it to much ;-)Originally Posted by AnthemAudio
Right now the drums are only played during the start screen and when playing there is an ambient city sound with random cars, birds, dogs, etc. I wanted a really small file size for the game hence the lack of music.
There will be two multiplayer version; versus and co-op with split screen.
Oh just so it's clear, he's using a Flash/Shockwave combination. I'm guessing it's Shockwave with an embedded Flash movie. He uses Flash to read the Web Cam data and Shockwave for the actual 3D graphics. Then Obviously he does a lot more to make it all come together nicely.Originally Posted by patrox

I've played a game exactly like this, only not as well realised, which came with a logitech webcam in 2001, it was great fun and we played it for hours, problems only occured when someone walked behind you or the ball got stuck in the ceiling fan![]()
Pah..
