Default Anyone in the US want a copy of Perfect Dark?

Stupid me. I won a copy of Perfect Dark on ebay for 89c. Not noticing the little shipping calculator icon until I'd placed my bid... and the shipping on the item is $25.

I'm trying to convince the seller to keep the game, and I'd pay a bit extra to not recieve it... but it seems like they're determined to ship.

Anyway, it's much much cheaper to send it to someone in the US, so if anybody wants it, or at least doesn't mind getting it, perhaps I could tell the seller to send it to you if they must send it somewhere. It'd save me some cash.

    D'oh!

You've exceeded your PM space! Here's my PM minus the address:

That's an UNBELIEVABLE rip-off. Everybody always does that on ebay! I'll take it and then ship it to you for cost, which would be, I think, under $5. Either that, or it's $6.40, I'll have to see when I weigh it.

Clear out some space or email me and I'll get you an address!

I think ebay needs some much more strict rules, this is a complete joke. Anyone who is going to be charged shipping at more than the value of the item should be able to withdraw without any penalties.

D'oh, I'm always exceeding my PM space. Cleared now.

Mike - thanks for the offer. They will post within the US for $6.35 so that's a big saving for me. And you can keep it if you like, I ended up getting another copy off someone else for not much more, except with much cheaper shipping, and it's an unused copy, and there's a free memory expanson thrown in with it.

So feel free to do with it as you please. I was just too eager to bid on a cheap item, dammit. But I'm quite happy to pay $7 for my foolishness. $25, less so.

Oh, never mind, the seller has offered to send it to me economy-style for $6.55. So I'll just do that, unless you actually want it.

Anyone want to talk about Perfect Dark (N64) ?
I am a big fan of Goldeneye but found PD totally lame.

Is there a gamecube version? This one is N64. I hope I don't find it the same as you, lakibuk - I'm having so much fun with Goldeneye at the moment I decided to give PD a try as well. It's bound to lose something in the translation from fighting Russians to the sci-fi theme though, I'm sure.

Anyway, either way it's more education for me.

Maybe you can tell me what you think about it when you've played it for some time. Would be interesting.

Eh, it's all Nintendo to me. I do think there's a gamecube sequel... maybe?

Interestingly, I technically DO have an N64 - I won it in a box of cereal! For real! That was way awesome. But then I let someone borrow it for a long time and never got it back.

A Sequel to Perfect Dark was due, but it was due for the XBox. It got delayed and the XBox 360 was on the horizon, so now it's going to be an XBox 360 game. With most of the guys who did GoldenEye and the original Perfect Dark now gone, I'd be surprised if it was up to much.

For what it's worth, the guys that did Goldeneye 007 for N64 have done a couple new games that are really, really good. Check out Time Splitters and Time Splitters 2. (I think they're available for all current-gen systems.) Really good stuff, very much the same feel as Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. Definitely worth a rent for fans.

I saw there was a new Goldeneye game out, which is interesting. You know, a game based on a movie becoming its own franchise. It must be 10 years since the movie came out now.

All I know is that the cover has a picture of a guy with a golden eye on it. Which seems a bit silly. Anyway, hardly anyone makes good games any more, that's why I'd rather buy N64 games.

Yes, definitely. They also did the overlooked and underrated Second Sight which is available for PS2, PC and maybe some other formats. It's not a straight first person shooter, more of a third person stealth/shooter, but it does have all the same elements that made me love GoldenEye.

Well, then, I hope you've got yourself a copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day. By far one of the best platformers ever made.

Yes I do. I think I've got most of the important N64 games now.

The engine, sound and graphics in Conker are all fantastic, and really show what the machine is capable of. The humour is extremely hit-and-miss and clearly written by programmers. The gameplay is... good in places, annoying in others. I haven't quite made up my mind yet. I've just finished fighting the terminator haybale.

Anyway, between Goldeneye and Ocarina of Time, Conker might have to wait a while.

The single player is somewhat spotty, but the multiplayer is right on the mark and worth it's weight in gold. We used to play "Beach" until 4-5AM every day when I was in school. Great stuff!

One of the most overlooked although original N64 games: Space Station Silicon Valley.

You're the second or third person to recommend that one. I've just checked it out and it sounds interesting, so I've put a bid on.
