Sol's SDL tutorial, 9 new chapters
I've been writing a graphics/gamedev tutorial using SDL for some time now.
The point of the tutorial is to build a complete (2d) game from scratch to polish. As the student goes through the tutorial, he/she is building the game step by step, with explanations on each change to the project.
Recently, I finished a new block of chapters, around 8000 words, covering moving camera, bigger levels, collisions with walls, game states and more. The whole tutorial .html files weight at about 480k now =)
I also moved to a new, hopefully more stable server.
If you know someone who might be interested in graphics / game programming, but hasn't taken the step yet, this tutorial just might be what it takes..
The current game build: http://iki.fi/sol/gp/ch29.zip
(currently requires vc.net03 crt dlls which much to my surprise are not included in windows distribution)
A fantastic sequel to an already great tutorial Thanks!!
I hope to wrap the tutorial by the end of this year, depending on how busy I am with other things (work, school, wedding, other hobbies, life..)
