Honestly? I'm getting a 'cheesy multimedia company from the 80s' vibe off of it. Just the first thing that struck my mind...

I think it's rubbish. The actual sphinx in yellow can be used, but everything else needs to change.

It's also similar to the movie company logo it's ripped off from.

Well, I didn't design it. I paid someone to design it. I also think it looks plain, so what should I tell the designer to change it? How it can be improved?

    I don't think it's that bad.

I think the sphinx head does look a little creepy.

I'd ask for your money back, considering how bad some of it has been done.

What kind of a website, and software is the logo being designed for, Alex_SphinxMedia? Once we know that, it'll be easier to advise on what it should look like.

Was it made in this resolution and size? It looks to me as if the text at the bottom is not antialiased, so it's probably not a scaled down version. You'ld normally want to have your logo in very high resolution so you can also display it full screen in your games and perhaps have it printed in high quality. Apart from that, the logo could be fine, but that depends on the style of your games and your site.

Well, I first contacted 2 design who has some very high-profile clients like gamespy, Unreal, but they qouted me $3000. No way I can afford that.

So I searched some others and found www.designgraphics.org. It only costs $75 for a logo design. It seemed a good price to me comparing to $3000!

I've requested a design change, hopefully the next one would be awesome.

Were no red flags raised when you saw their horrible logo?

This logo is okay if you did it yourself, but paying money for something like this is just wrong.

Get them to revise it, and be very firm on what you want. If you are too vague it will give them a chance to be lazy, and they will almost certainly take that chance, looking at what they have produced.

You should be careful with these cheap companies, although their portfolio logos may look good, it is likely that the people wanting them payed more than what you are paying, so go something of higher quality.

A cheap company designed my logo, and the first set of designs were terrible. But with some firm guidance they came up with something I liked. Be firm on what you want, and if they don't get what you want ask for a refund. And if that doesn't work issue a chargeback.

Well, yeah, they are redesigning it now. By the way, how much did you pay for your logo design?

Hands down the best logo on that site.

Sorry to hijack, but that was just too hilarious to pass up.

I actually don't even like many of the logos from the $3000 company either
I've seen some nice logo stuff in the artists forum though.
