Default ANN: Titan Assault 1.06 released

Titan Assault updated to version 1.06 with many feature requests including no score penalties and better entry levels.

Please give the demo a try and let me know how it goes. This version runs for 30 minutes only.

Note for Win98/ME users. Please let me know if it does not work on your machines.

    Hi C_coder,
Well I've finally got a decent enough machine and graphics to test this baby out!!
However, upon loading and being presented with the title screen, there are no menu options visible until I cross over them, after which they appear for a split second then disappear!
The only thing that does display is yes/no options!!

When I did get into the start of the mission, some of the land was not being displayed. Some of it was completely 'BLOCKY'.

    I have a 1 ghz AMD Athlon,windows XP (sp2),384 mb memory,Geforce MX/MX 400 with 64mb Ram,DX 9.0c

    All the best

I have tested with a very similar configuration like yours...

Even with a GeForce 2 MX 100/200 it works fine. Also with DirectX 9.0c installed.

I'm pretty sure it is the drivers...Do you have the latest drivers from NVidia?

If you use F12, you can grab a screenshot of what you see. If you can please send me screenshots of the problems that you are having.

    Thanks

Tested on Geforce MX 400 Athlon 2000 W2k

1024x768 approx. 10 FPS and not really efficient while playing. At 800x600 it was fluent.

I liked the game in general. There were a few tiresome things though. The reinforcement came too late. And in some levels I felt like the computer was playing instead of me.

I had long been looking for a game like this, but it is not exactly the one. I'd prefer (and think that some people also would prefer) a more casual game. To do, maybe some deeper strategy features can take place.

The Geforce MX series are known for fill rate problems so that is why you had ~10fps with 1024x768.

    Anyone with Win98 problems?

    Thanks.
