Aside from anything else people may say or think about Dark Basic, the thing that really limits its use for casual games is the requirement of DirectX Version 9.0b+![]()
Has anyone heard or played around with this Dark Basic SDK (C++). They seemed to have ported the Dark Basic 3D Engine to a C++ SDK library. They also claim that the perfromance issues that was plauging the old Dark Basic have been addressed.

I downloaded the demo you made. It ran pretty good (31fps). I ran on a older machine pIII 733MHz with DX 8.1 and it ran fine. What is with the DX 9.0b requirement listed on the website. Also what is the 2.2MB (d3dx9_26.dll) in your install files?Originally Posted by Deux

Well, with every DirectX SDK update there seems to be new and different dll's you need to distro. It is quite irritating really.
With the April DXSDK update I did not need to distribute any dll's, with the June Update however, most people were complaining that they did not have this dll.
