Thread: Amazon game downloads dead?

    Default Amazon game downloads dead?

    Hi
Does anyone have any recent experience with Amazon game downloads? They taken over Reflexive to enter the market of casual game downloads, but when I checked their site yesterday, they had like 3 new casual games launched in the last 30 days. So I am not sure if Amazon dropped the idea or developers dropped Amazon. I haven't submitted my games to them for a long long time since they didn't set my tax withhold rate to correct value.

they didn't set my tax withhold rate to correct value.
And they never corrected it? How much % difference between the real value and the one they used?

Anyway - they do not make good sales at all, from my experience. Maybe that's why.

It should be 10% and is 30%. I don't remember how persistent I was regarding this, but considering low revenues from them, probably not very.

Still, low revenue at the start was understandable, I expected it to grow, maybe not to BFG/GH scale, but still, didn't expect it to die like it looks it died.

Me too. It's nowhere near as good as Reflexive was. I don't know why, honestly. They do send you a lot of newsletters and long-to-read stuff though. :/

RIP Reflexive, 40% of $19.99 and a suite of titles you could affiliate at the same %.

Yeah, it was pretty good. Another one that totally sunk (don't ask me why) is Arcade Town. :/
You still have Gamersgate if you want the "40% of $19.99" (in fact 60%) though.

I work with Gamersgate but I've never seen the size of checks from them that I did with Reflexive (by a wide margin). The market has changed and price points have changed (which I haven't) so that may be Reflexive vs. Gamersgate or that might just be my skewed results from what I have given them to work with.

Hmmm I started working with Reflexive in 2009. When did you?
Both to me have been valuable if not HUGE like BFG can be.

I'm going to say 2007 when Real Estate Empire was released - I think there was a delay because Merscom was publishing it at retail and needed an exclusivity period but I can't remember for sure. I do know that the first month or two on Reflexive used to be pretty good.

Does anybody have experience with free to play browser titles on BFG that also have a paid ios version?
