    Default IndieDevMap

IndieDevMap is a world map of indie and independent game developers.

The website is still under heavy development, but you can already browse the maps and submit your data.

The main idea behind it is to help people to find developers in a specific area, but that's just the beginning. In the next few weeks more content will come: interviews with game developers, game promotions, jobs board and much more.

For more info and to submit your data check the website.

Cool idea. I assume it was inspired by the mainstream game development equivalent GameDevMap?

Yes, totally inspired by GameDevMap but I'm trying to expand the basic idea and build a new and (hopefully) better website from it.

I've sent my details too. Not sure this has any commercial value for us but seems like a fun project and I hope it takes off. Be interesting to see the map when its got a ton of details in it, find the hotspots etc.

Very fun project. Me and my partners are just getting into the indie game community, and this kind of thing could be great for connecting with people. Once we actually have a game build up and running for our first project, I'll definitely be submitting our information!

Thanks for the nice words and for submitting your data guys!

The website is slowly, but constantly taking off, and that's pretty reasonable considering (for now) there's no marketing supporting it, but the world of mouth and my posts on 4-5 forums.

Regarding the commercial value, back in 2008 I found my first job in the game industry browsing gamedevmap.com and that's why I'm pretty sure a website with a wider audience and more contents can easily become a useful resource for the indie/independent game developers community.

A quick update to announce the 0.2.0 version of the website introducing Search and Advanced Search.

Also, I wrote a blog post on Gamasutra about how the website started, the current status of the project and future plans.
