platform choice for 2D iOS/andtroid game
Hello Indie gamers,
I'm looking for some advice/thought on platform choice for development.
I've heard good things about Unity3D for 3D games, but my first title is going to be a 2D game and I personally have a ton of coding experience in Flash/AS2/3.
I looked through google and wikipedia and found some interesting articles, like this one:
http://www.burtonsmediagroup.com/blo...rque-unity-3d/
This article made me interested in Corona because of its close similarities to ActionScript, I downloaded it yesterday and did the tutorial and checked out some sample code and it all looks very reasonable and easy to wrap my head around.
Corona though seems to only export to Android and iOS. It would have been "nice" if the game could also export to a web browser player and/or as a downloadable game for Win/Mac.
Is Corona a good choice to invest my time into? It's not free, but it is also not expensive. I'm a little concerned by the lack of platforms it supports, but I also don't want to spend months learning a new language. The languages I know well are: PHP, (OOP) ActionScript, Jquery/script. I know very limited perl, and java. I do a lot of web development using Eclipse, Drupal, module development, database work etc.
If I code in Corona (= Lua) and later want the game ported to a different medium, is that even possible or a death wish?
Are others here coding in Corona and have good experience with it?
Is there a different platform that offers the same or better capabilities, for the same (or less) money, and reaches the same -- or more, platforms?
Thanks for any insight you can provide!
Kindly,
Raz.

My brother is using Unity3D and 2D Toolkit (http://unikronsoftware.com/2dtoolkit) for his latest game. He is really impressed with both.
