I am starting out as a game designer. need Feedback.

Hello all, I am an aspiring game designer & i've been working on a casual Puzzle platformer game meant for iOS & android (basically the mobile platform). Your game design document seems well written, but honestly there is no way to tell from this what your final game will be like. Anyone can write down a good design on paper, making it happen is the hard part. Come back when you have a playable demo and maybe you'll get some useful feedback.

Agreed. A picture is worth a thousand words, but a quick demo is with a kajillion. However, there are definitely those who really appreciate a well-written design document!

Thanx a lot guys for your replies...i have no programming knowledge so i have approached a friend for this. Speaking of which, do you think my GDD is good enough for the programmers? Have i explained my game mechanics well enough for them to understand & implement? From a programmer's point of view, what necessary changes or additions would you suggest for my GDD? Thanks.

I suggest asking your programmer. Without one of those, a GDD is just a wish list.

Yeah I know...just thought i'd get some more feedback from you guys before approaching him. I just want to know if the GDD needs more technical details or a more programmer friendly approach.. anyway, i'll contact him in a few days soon..

Wasn't being facetious btw. Some programmers like to have it all there in black and white and just go type it in. Others prefer basic guidance only and some leeway on implementation.

There's just no "standard" form for this kinda thing.

Best approach: sit down and talk to him/her. Explain your game, make lots of gestures, show the drawings, let he/she asks questions. Mention other games as example.
Nothing beats a face-to-face contact

platform games can be difficult or easy to realize, depending many factors. Do you plan to create a dev team? or just want to hire a freelance programmer?
