First off, you shouldnt go around asking for sales figures, most people don't like, or are not allowed to give them out. I and a few other developers have posted our own sales figures in the past, if you check the archives you can find them.

The lifespan of an indie is almost impossible to tell. Many games from 5 years ago still sell well, and there are most likely some that are still selling after 10 years. Basically it will sell as long as a site with a decent amount of traffic is selling it.

Please use the search functionality of this board to find this information. There are many posts with all sorts of figures that have been posted in the past, and you're not likely to get the guys that made Luxor to tell you what they've made.

There is also no average indie game lifetime, as the game will survive as long as the developer wants it to, through updates and refinements over the years.

Hi there bitcrafters, welcome to the forums.

As others mentioned already, there are some sales figures available - just make a search on these forums and you'll find some.

Thomas Warfield wrote a pretty good (heh) story about something related to your question: The Story of a Modestly Successful Game

I'd also recommend checking out an Indie Developer FAQ
    http://www.dexterity.com/articles/indie-faq.htm
    It will give some answers.

    Best Regards

And that is not the general opinion of Indiepath Ltd - etc... legal .... blah..
