Cartoonist somewhat new to gaming looking for gigs
Hi Everyone!
My name is Geoff Hassing, I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself and show some work. I've been a professional cartoonist for over 20 years now doing anything from comics, comic books, role-playing games, childrens book illustration, commercial work, and some video game work, and I'm also a member of the National Cartoonists Society.
The last 3 years I've spent illustrating children's books for a client in Japan, but unfortunately that's come to an end.
I've wanted to get into gaming for some time now, and last year teamed up with a developer to create a Facebook game called "You've Been Pranked!" that I created and did all the art for, but we didn't have the money to promote it so it's wasted away in Facebook game land. lol!
We did start on another game for a different project, which I created all the different run, jump, and other cycles for, for at least one character, and some background art, which you can see in the bottom right of the pic below, but that's about as far as we got before running out of funds.
I don't have a ton of animation experience, but I'm learning. Overall, I'm expert level in Photoshop, and pretty good in Illustrator and Flash. I'm just starting to play around with After Effects. My strengths are in creating fun, goofy characters, settings, and props, drawing from my imagination, storytelling, humor, and generating ideas.
I'm easy to work with, professional, flexible, and very interested and willing to learn new skills, techniques, and programs.
My website is badly out of date due to being too busy to update it, but I'm working on transforming it into more of a portfolio type site featuring my more current work.
I'm looking for paying gigs and hope that you'll consider using me on your latest project. I do have ideas for some games as well, but that's another thread. If you have any questions, please post them here or email me and I would be happy to talk with you.

Here's a bunch of the "Pranks" from the "Youve Been Pranked!" Facebook game that I created. I'd actually love to make a Flash version of this with animated pranks! lol!

Geoff recently did some work for my on my next mobile title. He was great to work with.
He did everything we had agreed to on time, on budget. A big, big plus for a shoe string indy like myself!
Another great thing about him, he can provide great collaborative input when asked otherwise he was the quiet professional that worked to bring my vision to life.
Geoff didn't give me what was quick and easy, he gave what i wanted. I'll use services again with without hesitation.

Here are a few examples of what I did for Gary.
Geoff just finished the work for my project and I have to say he was well worth the money. He communicates regularly and his work is such great quality that I basically didn't need any revisions. When the work was provided to me he would make sure to layer the items or give me different colour variations in case it would be useful to me, and not because I requested it. Because of this willingness to help and genuinely wanting you to succeed, many things actually worked out better than I first envisioned and opened up options that I never thought of to begin with. A great all around guy that I will definitely be using on my next projects. Thanks again Geoff!

I'd like to recommend and thank geoff for all his work on my up coming iOS release Ninja Pig.
I can only echo the comments above in that Geoff provided high quality artwork that hit the mark every time, communicates on a regular basis and has a great enthusiasm and passion for what he does. So much so that I ended up requesting twice the amount of assets I originally planned because I was so thrilled with his work
I've really enjoyed working with Geoff on this project and I hope to work with him again soon.

Hopefully it will be available the 29th but that depends on Apples approval.

A bit overdue this, but Geoff supplied the graphics for my app and he was a joy to work with. Great artist, great communication, one of the good guys.
We are just finishing up our game (adding the final polish so to speak) and Geoff did a fantantic job for us. Hes brilliant to work with and always comes up with the goods

Sorry, but I just can't watch your new images, your water mark are just way OTT. You should make them smaller and in a corner, not huge and covering the whole picture. My 2p.

I thought I would post this here too since it is relevant to people looking for artwork for their games.
I'm starting a new venture and this is my first offering!
I'm now creating collections of affordable, quality game assets that can be purchased for one-time non-exclusive use in video
games, available individually or bundled, depending on your needs.
I know that a lot of you developers and programmers are working on shoestring budgets as is and can't always afford to hire an
artist and spend $1000 or more to create artwork for your games on an exclusive basis because it can be expensive.
So, my plan is to is to create asset packs of all kinds of quality, affordable game graphics that you can purchase ala-carte'
as your budget allows. Let me know if you have any suggestions on what kinds of asset packs you'd like to see.
Steampunk City is my first collection and has just about everything you need to jump right in and start building levels. The
only thing I don't have in there is UI graphics and buttons.
I'm in the process of building a website that will allow other game artists to upload and sell their game assets as well. I'll
post a link once it's up and running. : )
In the meantime, I'll be handling transactions through Paypal and email. If you have any questions about how this works, or
have any suggestions of asset packs, please feel free to post them here or write me at

Assets are available in 128x128, 64x64, or 32x32 pixel sizes. Backgrounds are available in the following sizes. 2048x1536,
1024x768,640x480, 2048x640, 2084x720px.
If you'd like to purchase one of the asset packs:
1. Paypal the amount of whichever asset pack you wanted to purchase to geofftoons@comcast.net
2. In either the Paypal instructions or separate email, indicate what asset pack you wanted, what size assets you wanted, and
any special instructions or alternate email if different from the Paypal email. By default, I'll email the order to the
customer email associated with the Paypal order.
3. Once payment is confirmed, I'll email a zipped file containing .PNG files of your purchase.
4. Your Paypal purchase confirmation will serve as your receipt.
What you ARE purchasing: A license for one-time non-exclusive use (which means I can sell the artwork multiple times)
in video games. I still own the artwork and all other rights associated with the artwork. You can also use the artwork in
projects you plan to sell commercially or for game you are creating for clients.
What you're NOT allowed to do: You're not allowed to alter, resell, or give away the artwork. There are no refunds,
but if the file is corrupted, I'll be happy to send you another copy of the same thing.
Since I don't have things automated yet, I'll process orders as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours to
receive your order.
