Default Anybody used Project Wonderful recently?

As admin of Pig-Min Agency, I'd like to try everything to let [Sand Castle - Prelude] famous. (http://arcshock.com/en/entry/Sand-Ca...ries-Prelude-2)

And playthisthing.com had advertisement from projectwonderful.com, very cheap, so joined it around 4 days ago.

I tried several things for banner, as just picture / texts / somewhat well made banner.
I tried several ad publishers, as freeware site / gaming blog / Cycle forum from Portugal ... etc.

Just the problem is, even if it showed to lots of people (slightly over 10,000) through several sites, almost no click happened.

I didn't spend much money. Just put it 5$, used under 2$ until now. I was searching for cheap (even 0$) banners only. Maybe that's the problem while I can't get good visitors, however I tried around 20 websites.

    So...
If possible, please let me have better idea using this.

    - Must I pay more, to be shown over 100,000 visitors per day sites?
    - Project Wonderful is strong for Web Comics, but I've not tried them very well. Good for Gaming ads, or just skip it?
    - I got over 2,000 views from playthisthing.com yesterday, almost no visitors came in. Is it usual, or just I did wrong?

Please let me know about that. Thanks.

My experience is almost two years old, but I discovered that as soon as I found a somewhat gaming-related site to advertise on, a big online Poker site would come in and outbid my ads by a significant amount. The same one, every time. It seemed like they were using me to do their research, so I just gave up.

I did get what seemed to be a fair number of clicks for the (original) price on gaming-related sites while it lasted, though. On the other hand, web comic and Etsy sites didn't result in many clicks at all.

Trust in the magic of the free market! Unless a site is brand new to the system, if its traffic is super-cheap, it's super-cheap for a reason. If you think you see a fabulous bargain, you're almost certainly wrong. Don't expect to get more than 1 or 2 clicks from something priced $0!

Where the ads are placed and what the nature of the visitors are makes a big difference in click-through, and the bidding trends will usually even out to a standardised level of what that traffic is really worth.

Since when they introduced geo-targeting PW lost much interest for me. Apart US traffic, the rest has a suspiciously (unexplicable) low CPC. The same ad has 1.29% vs 0.25% CTC between US vs EU traffic, making EU advertising basically impossible with PW (unless you like losing money).

Me too. It was a lot of work but I felt like about 18 months ago I was getting rewarded for searching the back catalogs. I recently spent $100 on Audio Lark (my wifes company) and we didn't get much bang for the buck. Admittedly I was spending on the bigger sites that aren't as good of a deal on a per visitor basis but I didn't feel like we got the results that I used to before the geo targeting stuff.

Thanks for the all kind answers. And if I'd summary your words...

    - Big Casino attacked & real game ads were gone, 2 years ago.
-> Thanks for the tip. To our happy (or not), I can't see Casino ads for these 4 days. Maybe they moved out.

    - If its traffic is super-cheap, it's super-cheap for a reason.
-> Thanks for the tip again. That could be essential thing for our world, just I forgot. However I must know how much money per day could be good for 1 banner, after experiments.

    - Geo-targeting changed lots of things, badly.
-> I'm new to PW, so don't know earlier status. Maybe Geo-Targeting is not so good? Make 1 banner to all over the world was better, unlike these days? (In fact, I like that Geo-targeting idea by myself. Maybe I'm too new to advertisement world.)

If there are some more kind people who answers this thread, I'd be appreciated. I like basic idea of PW, but not sure it's really worth it.

P.S. : PW has TOO STRONG part of Web-Comics websites, as I experienced. I'm not sure it's good for Games or not. Comics - Game has some shared fans, but not sure exactly. (Same for Web-games.)
