    Default Twittering Development (Cletus)

We've decided to take the plunge and Twitter Cletus Clay development, warts and all. Design decisions, models, photos, maybe even videos, everything exactly as we do it.

It's very strange - it actually feels... relaxing.

No idea if anyone is interested or if other people here have tried it, but any experience, feedback or comments much appreciated.

(http://twitter.com/CletusClay for any twitterers among you - I'm trying out Twhirl BTW - far better than using the web)

I'm on Twitter as MacguffinGames. I think Twitter in general is a great outlet - not only for marketing/PR for your company, but for personal networking and just staying sane running a one-person show.

I'd recommend checking out TweetDeck as well - those are the main two apps people seem to use, not including platform specific ones for iPhone, Blackberry, etc.

For a really long time I was dubious of the value of Twitter, but I am starting to see some results.

In my experience, it's not really useful for reaching ordinary people, but it's great for staying in touch with other game developers.

    lol - so true...

Although I like that twitter idea. Maybe it even helps for promotion... and gives you a nice log about what you have done.

Bit off-topic, but had to add this...

What you guys use for Twitter?

    (twitterbar seems pretty nice: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4664)

    P.S. I'm there too... http://twitter.com/gameproducer

    Woo people to follow
    I'm on at http://twitter.com/barog

Trying to keep it development specific for my tweets, I'm trying to keep personal stuff on facebook. Working on backend stuff at the moment so nothing too exciting yet but will be improving our shader and editor system in the next month so hopefully will get some screens up then!

IMO it can be, much like everything else on the internet - including this forum. But I think it can also be a pretty powerful marketing and networking tool.

My initial problem with it was the idea that it is just full of people spamming what kind of jelly they put on their toast. And while some people do it, there are some people who have a very good signal-to-noise ratio of stuff they tweet. To not waste time, in TweetDeck I separate out people into a couple different columns, and keep most up with the high-interest ones when I check in, and look at the other two if I'm killing time or just every once in a while.

I clicked cletus pics and then clicked photos to see more pics and got a face of gay porn so I think I will not be using twitter in its current form.

I wasn't offended but it was funny and entirely inapproporite.

Wow! We had already noticed one failure on twitpics and reuploaded an image because it has replaced ours with something random.

Can you report the link that's a problem?
