some new work:

Hey guys, new guy on the block and I want to get a post out there to try and stir up some work.
I'm looking for freelance (short or long term), part time or full time work. I'm 99% interested in concept work, but if you've got an offer that's too hard to pass up definitely let me hear it. I *do* have some 3d experience (mostly texturing) but like I mentioned unless it's an offer for a full time gig or it really knocks my socks off I likely won't be interested.

well, it depends on the image really for how long things take... and I suppose how much caffeine I'm willing to ingest that day
As far as rates go, I don't keep a steady rate as I don't like either losing work or costing myself money because I've decided how much I want for a certain type of thing.
Best thing to do is contact me, explain what you want and we can go from there if you are interested.
and here's a personal character design I put together for a project I'm toying around with in my free time.

I received an instant message from a Besomegames a couple days ago and I kept getting the message "Unable to send message: Refused by client"
So if you happen to be Besomegames would you mind contacting me with another method?

It might be different for concept artists, especially one of your caliber, but my experience with the indie game development world is that everyone wants a firm quote up front, rather than an hourly rate. Understandable, since most devs are on extremely tight budgets... it can make things difficult as an artist, especially if, like me, you're coming from an industry where people are more willing to accept ballpark estimates. I totally understand what you mean about not wanting to lose work by making a bid that assumes that there will be some hiccups along the road, nor losing money by making a bid that assumes everything will go perfectly.
Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know, since you say you're new. You might find that you have to be willing to take on a certain amount of risk by charging a fixed price if you're going to get much work. Or not - I'm just speaking from personal experience. YMMV.
