Looks like a nice upgrade and I'm downloading the demo now. How are sales?
So here it is. The biggest and probably last update to MAGI - my indie game about wizard duels. More like "gold/deluxe version" to be honest. It's the outcome of hard work, love, learning more about indie games, gathering feedback from the players and actually getting some money to fund all this. The amount of changes is insane. Almost every part of the game was improved (or even reworked). The most important things are:
- Brand new menus and much improved graphics
- 3 more tracks by Rob Westwood
- 2 additional game modes
- Vastly improved and rebalanced gameplay
- Cookies!
The full list of changes is available here. Sorry for linking to my forums, but it's really too big to post here.

I'm looking forward to your comments. It's the last big update for MAGI, but your feedback will be very useful for my upcoming game. After all it's partially due your opinions that I was able to get this game running.
Thanks and have fun.

Hey, yeah it's bigger than your usual update. More like MAGI one-and-half.
As for sales, honestly, I don't know. I wasn't promoting the game for few months now. Been too busy with The Witcher and now my new job at Codeminion, so sales dropped down a lot. The update was released only recently - I don't know yet what effect will it have. I hope it will make me some nice extra.
Anyway, be sure to drop a comment or two, once you're finished with the demo. And have fun.
Definitely a huge improvments over what I saw last time around. But still feels too empty. The actual battles themselves are great fun but it could really use some kind of story or something else to do in-between fights.
Well to me it looks too dark now although the effects look better on black. Really the game felt the same to me and I played it so much back then that I can't touch it more yet. ^^
Still that right clicking to show a "tooltip" really confused me again and I'd just display it on mouse-over with a delay. At least when the battle isn't on. I noticed that problem in the character selection screen anyway when I was trying to find out what those special skill icons meant.
Ha ha, I think the same, but each time I raised this topic on my forums and said "hey, it would be cool if you could do this and that in between the battles" my players response was: "whatever, keep it simple... and regarding that spell I think it should... blah blah"Originally Posted by Nexic

My audience seems to consits mostly of grown up gamers who love hardcore games, but have no time to play them. They enjoy the fact that they can play MAGI in very short sessions and without any fluff to bother them. It made me drop all such ideas and I just focused on polishing the gameplay and graphics.
In a way I understand them. MAGI essentially is like a fighting game (Tekken etc.) - it's about beating the other guy and the rest is just fluff. However, I plan to get my players by suprise with the sequel and actually pack some content there. Along with improving things I did not-so-well here - like these messages Tertsi mentioned.
BTW - Tertsi, I just ordered your PR distribution service, check your email.
Noticed it and it's past mid-night here so I'll get on it after sleep.![]()
