Spam - anyone use Cloudmark?

Back on the neverending spam issue... does anyone use Cloudmark Desktop?

I've used the trial for about a week now, and I must say I'm very impressed. Very few spam have gotten through, and no false positives so far. I like the idea behind it as well - it uses user-feedback to update its own spam definitions. If many users block a particular message, it is more likely to get blocked as spams for other users as well. It only integrates with a few mail servers (and I don't believe it works for server-side spam filtering), so that might be a drawback for some.

Now, again, this is only based on an initial impression. I'm considering purchasing it ($50 per year), but I was hoping someone else here would have had a bit more experience, positive or negative, with it.

Isn't the same method used already by yahoo and gmail? I got a pro yahoo mail account ($19/year) and I'm quite satisfied by it so far.

I use Cloudmark since about 2.5 years and am very happy with it - at the moment I get around 4000-4500 spam mails a week.

The only few wrong filtered messages I got so far were newsletter mails (easy to whitelist for the future). I use the Outlook plugin so it filters all my mail accounts which is very comfortable.

Before Cloudmark I used Spamfighter for a year which uses a similar system but (back then) it wasn't as good as Cloudmark - at least in my experience.

Forwarding all mails from spammed addresses to Gmail, where the good ones are filtered and available for use with your Gmail account, or forwarded to a clean email address is very efficient, too

I use Thunderbird and it does a fine job of filtering spam. But then, I could be entirely confused about what you guys are discussing.

I've been using Spamihilator (www.spamihilator.com) for the last 6 months and i'm impressed with it, it filters about 99% or more spam emails (i get around 200 every day) and it has some cool features like the plugins or the ability to train the filters, and it's 100% free !

I did end up purchasing Cloudmark - so far I'm quite happy with it.

My ultimate spam solution has been pretty simple and effective. I started using Google Apps and now all of my mail goes through googles email servers. I haven't seen a piece of spam make it through their filters yet.
