    Default Hacker Evolution

    Hello everyone,

    I would like to introduce our upcoming game, Hacker Evolution.
    Hacker Evolution is a hacker simulation game.

    Game overview :

    You play the role of Brian Spencer, a former intelligence agent.
    When a technology developed by Xenti Corporation, wich allows data transmissions at speeds exceeding the speed of light, every rule is about to change.
    Your mission is to prevent a massive catastrophe from happening.
    It's up to you if the world will continue to be ruled by humans ... or by a computer.

    It looks very clonish of Uplink; I realize that game gameplay may be drastically different, but if you have a game about hacking that shows a world map as part of its main interface people are going to think it's a clone.

    Sounds cool, I'll have to give it a go. It is very brown though, is that the only colours in the game?

    @RinkuHero:
    The gameplay is radically different from Uplink. The only common ground is that both games are from the same genre.

    @MrQ: The game supports interface skins, so more colors and graphics will be on their way

    I started game, and typed my nickname 'mrkwang'. Right after that, 'PAUSE' screen appears & never disappears.

    I still could type some command with text window, and it seems to work something. But if it's working at now, why I must see 'PAUSE' screen, which hides game main screen? Even if I click the mouse on the 'PAUSE' screen, or press 'ESC' key, it never disappears.

    So what can I do, when I'm stuck 5 seconds after started game?

    Hi

    Tried the game somewhat and here are the votes from the Swedish jury;
    It's polished in a way that that this kind of game can be polished. Runs smooth and feels like a good OS without having too many fancy effects. Still I immidiatly understand when starting up the game that this is not a game for me at all.
    I hate writing any command in any prompt. I dispise the DOS-shell and understand that some people still love writing their commands and things in the shell. I don't so first of all when starting up the game and I go through the tutorial I just restrain myself from shutting it off.
    Tutorial says: write this... so I write it.
    Tutorial says: now write this .. I write it again.
    Tutorial says good, now to be able t do this you must write.. this...
    I shut it down.

    Im not the one that should give feedback on this game because first of all I know nothing at all about hacking so I just feel stupid when the game is trying to simulate an "easy way to hack". I stioll don't understand the therminology behind hacking and really cannot find the thrill I guess some people feel when they are bouncing something two times and then decrypts something in somewhat.

    Audio is good.

    My only question is what kind of audience you are targeting with this game as writing doscommands (or other similar commands) is not the average computerusers wet dream. I know Uplink did great. I haven't tried it

    Well both are probably clones of the original Hacker anyway...

    Thank you everyone for your input.

    @mrkwang: The pause can be dismissed by pressing the pause key. I will add the options to also be able to dismiss it with the ESC key.

    @AJirenius: Thanks for the feedback. Indeed we are targeting more for the techie/geek guys

    @electronicStar : I think 99.9% of games are a clone of something.
    In my personal definition, I would conside clone, something that clearly resembles the original.
    Is Doom3 a Wolfenstein 3D clone?

    Hello,

    No. It's an art box like with any software / game.
    The game is delivered as a download and optionally on a CD (wich will have an interesting shape and packaging).

    From the website:

    exosyphen studios just went through a complete rebranding, in order to better reflect our new products and services.
    Perhaps that means they don't want to be directly associated with their old stuff anymore...

    Hello,

    We have sold the ownership for those products.
    We got a good offer, before the release of Hacker Evolution, so we have accepted it.

    Nothing out of the ordinary.
