Why hasn't the game protection in RealArcade and MSN Games been improved yet? Anyone who knows the "method" can literately download all the games for free to play without restriction and without doing any kind of cracking. I plan to become an indie game developer myself so I was wondering isn't it a loss of sales to your business? Or is it simply that it is only designed to protect from average user and cracker doesn't even bother with it...

Nothing obliges you to work with them.

I think it's pretty clear that these portals really don't care much about the lost sales to developers. It just doesn't affect the portals profits enough to deal with it. It's not like the portals have to pay any of the game development expenses or have any interest in any specific game. And since they get hundreds of game submissions every month, the portals have plenty of new content to sell. As for the developers themselves, I suspect these portals wouldn't even notice if you skied off a cliff! ;)
