View Full Version : Is the domain name moodfly.com siutable for indie game?
In what respect: As a review/news site? A developer site? The name of a game?

I'm a developer and want to build my indie business. The site will be similar to dexterity.com, retro64.com and so on.

It's a question that can't be answered without knowing exactly how the domain will relate to what you're doing with the site. The domain itself seems simple enough that people could remember it easily, which is good, but other than that I don't know what sort of comments you're expecting here...

If "Amazon.com" can sell books (not rivers) and "Google.com" can search the internet (and not draw attention to the fact that they creatively spelled "googol") then "moodfly.com" really shouldn't be a problem, IMHO.

The names easy enough to remember - gets my vote :)

I agree completely. Once someone learns more about a product or company, the name tends to become a part of it no matter how odd. For example, look at "square" - they sell rpgs. "Korn" - how dumb is a band name pronounced corn? But they were popular in their time and the name became "cool" because of the band associated with it.

It's short, sweet, and easy to remember. Should work well.
One question you might want to ask yourself, "Does the name convey (or at least not distract from) what your company is about?" Decide how you want to set yourself apart from everyone else and then go forward making sure all your marketing (including company name, logo, website design, game themes, etc.) reflects that core mantra.
Good Luck and Welcome to the Forum!
I get it. Thanks you all.:)
