The end of the year is coming up quick! Well at least from my perspective...

The 5th Annual 2006 Game Tunnel Independent Game of the Year awards are scheduled to begin December 9th and run through December 30th, handing out awards in a variety of categories and ending with the ever popular Top 10 Independent Games of the Year.

The awards are a MONUMENTAL under-taking each year that leaves me seeking for sanity throughout December and the first months of January. However, each year I come back for more as I think they are perhaps the most important thing that Game Tunnel does for the Independent Game Community each year (and they are also quite important all year long as they introduce people to indie games and highlight some great games in an easily digestible list).

For a game to be included it needs to be submitted to GameTunnel (if it hasn't been covered already) by November 21st. Feel free to directly submit through this link: Game Submission (http://www.gametunnel.com/html/modules.php?name=Developers)

:) Good luck!

...5th Annual 2006... first months of January... I fear for your sanity already! :D

Thank you for doing what you do. My game is going to make that 11/21 deadline. I swear!

We submitted FizzBall for the next roundup... will that suffice to get it considered for the game of the year awards?

That's what I get for writting while I'm being called for dinner ;). However, since I literally spent all day on indie stuff (IGF, November round-up, GOTY preparation) and am feeling rather exhausted I couldn't help but feel the sanity has already begun.

Yes!
Fun game btw. The kids mode is perfect. Had my kids playing it all day!

Everyone should go and vote for their favorite game in the Players Choice Award section -

Looks like voting is open!

Right now Aveyond and Steam Brigade are leading the pack...

Nice spamming on the thread by Toribash with huge animated banners, BTW.

Oddly Devestation Zone Troopers, the game that perhaps scored the highest ever by GT's reviewers, hasn't got a single vote yet. My vote Star Defender 3. Come on guys, stop spam voting your own titles :D

Just wondering, should games like Kingdom Elemental or Tasty Planet even be considered for 06 since it's not even out yet? Hope my gut is right on Tasty Planet and users respond to it when it comes out so the dev gets properly rewarded for pushing new genres.

Kingdom Elemental was released on Nov 21st, Tasty Planet on the 14th of November. Fun games.
