Well, I know most people here seem to be into casual games as a way of downsizing or rightsizing thier development.
But I'm a bit of a throwback in that I've done the 2D thing a *lot* and basically seem to be heading down the route of doing 3D games for a while at least.
So I wondered if anyone had anything good to say about any smaller non-casual publishers they've worked with recently?
What I'm looking for is a publishing partner for a couple of our future games (we'll be doing singleplayer versions of our next games), so if you have any good feedback about any company you have worked with recently or are working with right now, please pass it on.
Let me be clear here. I've worked with plenty of large publishers and I don't have any rose tinted specs on, but I'm hoping somewhere in this crazy industry, there is a partner we can find to help us distribute our titles into other avenues (we'll do our own ESD), preferably a small publisher who is both hungry for good games and actually knows how to work with developers.
Our games are targetted at the mature hardcore gamer (i.e. thirysomethings) who have a history of playing hardcore games and still like to do that, but cant afford the time to give thier lives to a single game. So we incorporate things like short play sessions, one-click game startup, robust community support, voice chat etc).
Its always nice to hear about the good guys! there are so many stories about the bad ones.
