One of our guys, Ernie Ramirez, is going. He's a biz-dev/accounting guy, but he's still a good guy. ;)

If you heard any stories of a person from Reflexive dancing around on a table at the GDC Real party in 2005, that was him...

Its kind of interesting there actually IS a casual game conf in eastern europe. I'm sure there will be plenty of support from the portals for this..

Are there enough devs?

We actually recently decided to be a sponsor and we are sending two people. The conference is not only going to include Russians and Ukrainians but apparently a lot of east Europeans (though total attendance will only be about 150). We see it as an opportunity not only to find great content for our western markets but to expand the market for casual games there. On the core side, Russia is our number two PC market but it has not been very receptive to casual games. Hopefully, we can change some minds at Kiev.

Quite interesting.. never heard of it before. Any idea on how easy is it to get visas? That seems to be the biggest hassle to me.

As far as I know, EU and US citizens do not need entry visas to visit Ukraine.
And Russians do not even need foreign passport.

Just wanted to confirm what Val said, US citizens definitely do not need visas, just a valid passport.

I'll be there, along with Dan Prigg. We won't have a table (since it's just the two of us), but we'll have a meeting room. If you'd like to meet with us, shoot me an email.

I will be here. And as I know, two more game companies from Krasnoyarsk, Russia will be here too.

We'd also love to meet with both developers (for us to consider publishing your games in North America, either in stores or online) and publishers/portals who would be interested in casual games. I will be attending as will one of my associates who speaks Russian and Polish. Please send me an email at lsm@merscom.com. Thanks.
