So, I have just finished my first game, Sanctuary. (http://nate-bradley-games.com/SanctuaryAbout.htm)

Now, I'm wondering, from your experience, what methods of advertising, paid for and free, give you the best results.

I am submitting my game to be reviewed and posting on some select forums. What are some other ways of getting your game known?

Is it really worth it to pay for ads?

And also, what are some of the best indy review sites? I have submitted my game to these sites already:
http://www.gametunnel.com/
http://www.bytten.com/
http://www.gamesareart.com/
http://www.gametrove.net/index.php

What else it out there?

Thanks for your help.
-Nate

Come and post a version on www.pjio.com, you might also want to check out www.indiegamebusiness.com for PR distribution.

What is the igLoader it is requesting I download?

Umm i decided not to submit my game as it seems a lot of hassle to download plugins etc and as i dont know what im doing.

Have a look a gametrove thats a nice easy way to submit games i think this method will put a lot of people off ... it did me and i want as much exposure as possible.

I did try and downloaded both packages but after they installed just didnt know what to do and got frustrated very quickly.

Darren.

I would recommend you press release distribution to games publications, usually people get 3-5 reviews after the first try. And it is much more effective (because journalists are independent and trustworthy) and much cheaper than one ad.

If you have any questions feel free to ask please!
