Hi!

Where on indiegamer do you post if your looking for unpaid help?
Seems strange that a site that is called indie gamer only has a forum for paid positions.

I have a project anouncement, and I'm also looking for (unpaid) help.

Presumably the same place you would post if you were looking for pay without working for it.

There is no place on Indiegamer for requests for unpaid help. And it is not strange considering this is a forum of professionals. If you're looking for unpaid help, check out GameDev.net (http://www.gamedev.net).

This community typically caters to people who are trying (even as hobbiest) to engage in professional game development practices. Some have ambitions to be full time game develoeprs, others see it as an evening and weekend hobby. The vast majority are serious about it and want to do it right. It's very difficult to find people who are willing to do a professional job for free. Typically if there are members of the community inspired to do some charity work they will most likey do it for one of their friends that they know from here or elsewhere.

Working for free for and anonymous person who posted on a web forum is hardly a good use of time for a person looking to develop or contribute to professional quality games. In most cases thes projects are doomed to failure and end up being a colossal waste for time for all parties involved. As a result we have a policy of not permitting "requests for free work" posts on the forums in an effort to keep things professional.
