You expect people to download an EXE, posted by a new user, just like that and blindly run it?

Your lack of respect for our intelligence is startling.

I suppose you are a member of Nigerian royalty, and will pay us large amounts of money to download your product? :-)

@epicboy: I don't understand the attitude given to tojp here. All you need to do is take 2 seconds and search for lightning clean 3.0 on google and you can see it at many legitimate sites. I would think a better response would be simply not to post on the topic.

This isn't really what I was expecting for my first post on the new forum though. :(

Jason

I have been lurking on this forum for a little while and mainly I find it to be quite useful. However, I hate to see it sink to the levels of other forums in regards to attacks and just plain rudeness. I would love to see this place continue to be a useful resource for independant game developers.

I'm sorry, but when an unknown person posts a vaguely worded post telling us to download a random exe file, the first thing anyone's going to think is that it's something unpleasant.

And this couldn't possibly be a different program, renamed to look like Lightning Clean?

As unreason stated, a new user (Posts : 1) shows up with a vague 3 line post containing a link to an EXE for me to run and I'm supposed to give them the benefit of the doubt?

Sorry, no.

...and for that matter this is a game developers forum.

While I have no doubt that software that helps clean up and protect your system from malware is very useful, it's not appropriate to spam a message board with products that aren't applicable to the context of the board.

What's next... Viagra?... Make your boobs bigger? Mine are big enough thank you very much!

Agreed, and also, nothing anyone said was outrightly rude or attacking. Jason, try your best to avoid being over-sensitive about what people say in responce to others. There may be the odd slightly imperfect post, but this forum is a million miles away from those filled with insulting trolls and lamers.

1. When posting, write a description of your game/website, operating instructions and links to: screenshots of the game, your website and to the download of the game. Write what kind of feedback you are interested in and expect members of the forum to criticize, suggest, bug-list and/or compliment accordingly.

so:
1. the description was not enough
2. no link to website
3. no screenshots
4. "expect members of the forum to criticize, suggest, bug-list and/or compliment accordingly"

i'm done and this thread obviusly not going anywhere.
want to use it? then download it. not? don't.
